RickM's Berg BJv3 now bjv4 Build

Looks great Rick! You will love those Dlux tubes "thumbsup" Mine have been treating me very well so far. they certainly are a bit of work to get setup. Mine have a few extra holes from where I thought I was deliberate in my measuring and proved myself wrong... lol

I really missed you guys as well Garry. Our local YMCA has done a terrible job in managing rainouts for my son's games (I am the teams coach also) and they really messed me up Saturday. I will absolutely be at the next one and will probably try and go to state if there is an open division.

I was wrestling with my steering and was just not that happy with the throw. I am running a hitec 7955 servo which is programable. Anyway as I was laying in bed last night coming up with ideas ranging from the new futaba 513 oz servo, to buying a programmer for my current hitec. All of which involved me spending money I probably did not need to spend. Then it hit me this morning. If I shortened the throw for the steering rod link at the knuckle i will get more steering throw, and fortunately the vp knuckles have two holes. Soooo, this is what I can up with. This gives me just enough throw to max out my steering. Notice the use of the different holes in the knuckle.

I am really happy with this rig right now. I am not sure if I ever weighed my rig with new tubes on it so I did that last night. I also switched back out to my boss claws and it crawled better on my home rock pile in some applications. I have this odd love hat with the boss claws. Anyway my truck is now sitting at 5.1 lbs!! That is probably as light as I am gonna go. I am happy with it. I might look into aluminum rod balls and maybe aluminum chassis screws but for now I am really happy.

I went out and ground up some of my rock pile last night screwing around. The finals are close. I am going to practice my switch hand driving JeremyH style and see how I do!

Small update. Have a comp this weekend but it is also the same weekend as my hs reunion so I may not get a chance to really get my rig into all the trouble desired.

That said here is the update.
1. RC bros lockers
2. lightened the uppers with the McTwist carbon link trick. Way cool and easy.
3. changed up my battery mount. Made it more stabile but got it moved out of the way some.

All that said my rig had some odd "stuck accelerator" stuff going on last night. Gotta get that worked out if you know what I am saying.

I plan to run what I can. I have my 2.2 ready. My 2.2s should be ready (although it is bodiless in protest), and my 1.9 is definitely ready.

Well, Things are going well with my rig. Took 3rd this weekend at the local comp. Got beat by crawl it slow and mctwist. Both awesome drivers so I can't complain. I did widen my front and rear uppers hoping for better side hilling. I think it worked.

Well kids. I could not leave well enough alone. My rig is getting a pretty big overhaul, and tonight my electronics are getting a real smash finally. I also decided I wanted to see what I can do with my chassis, which is now way old. I am keeping my powder dry trying to see if there are some different directions I want to go with this rig. Certainly staying Berg though.
