Dravpnir's 2014 "Standard sized" Berg

Do not know yet Daniel. First I need to get all the parts, then it needs to be tested and perhaps change with more testing afterwards...

As my LaaLaa Rovers are starting to fall into pieces I started to make some new tires. I wanted to try something new this time... :)

For now I am planning to keep the side lugs. Perhaps I will shave them off on the rear tires.

Silver KLR thread and gold Voodoo pin sidewalls. They are narrower and slightly taller than a stock Voodoo Pin tire.

Got my prototypes of the rear weight holders yesterday. As I haven't received the CF parts yet I mounted of the all plastic ones that I made after Dlux request.

Works and looks pretty good, imho

I filled up the rear weight holders to the maximum of 5 slugs (~ 70g or 2.5 oz) at each side. Then my RTR balance looks like this

Rear weight system looks Awesome!!!!!! Great idea with lots of tunability.."thumbsup"

I cant wait to see youre new chassis..
and I am also wondering how the KLR is gonna do up agains voodoo pin tires and skinny rovers
they have a little more diameter so I think they will climb very good just because they are bigger

Well, for the people who want to know a bit more about the new chassis.. Go to the eurocrawl... There you can see it for the first time.. Lol
For all people who can't come... Just a little weight teaser... Yes it's light... Only 42.3 Grams with aluminum hardware...

Just watch the Dravtech Facebook page for the great revealing in the near future.. ;)

So EuroCrawl went better than I had hope. I placed on 20th place out of 31 drivers and for me that was really good. Lot of driver misstakes but the Berg felt really good.

The rear weight holders work out great. If anyone using the Superlite axles wants a pair, just PM me.

The 2.2 KLR tires seemed ok but had to much grip for the Spanish rocks. Luckily I chickened out and only used them on the front otherwise it might had gone a lot worse. I will continue to test them on the more slippery rocks here in Sweden.

I forgot to take pictures, but luckily Jorge Daniel Joo, a nice Portuguese guy captured some pictures of my Berg, "thumbsup"

Oh yes! I almost forgot....

Say welcome to the newest member of the SuDu family, the SuDu Mod 3D

There will be some minor changes before it is heading out to DravTech Team Drivers, but mostly it will look like below. All the spacers are of course hollow and the chassis is surprisingly stiff.

Almost the same geometry as the SuDu Pro
Angled rod ends for the lower links
Rounded skid for less chance of hang ups
No nyloc nuts are needed
Lot of upper link clearence

How much does that bump protrude past the lower links?

A little bit, but from comments from people during EuroCrawl I will flatten out the skid a bit and then the "bump" will not protrude past the lower link rod ends.

Yeah that seems like the bump would could knock you off line.

That might be possible and also people wanted to have a slightly larger flat area to help keep the chassis in place during for an example break overs.

Now the chassis has an bigger flat area and the bottom of the skid is level with the rod ends for the lower links.
