Prophet's Bully 2

Looks great mate, thats the direction I'm trying to head as well.

I'm trying to get my head around a parts list...looks like i need to build from scratch.

So i got a package today......"thumbsup"

Time to get some wrenching done!! "thumbsup"

So i've got the initial set up on the back done.

I ended up doing a shock cap mod. The stock caps worked on my original chassis as it was a little bit wider. This one is thinner and there was too much bind in the top of the shock.
I used the caps from the stock wraith shocks, some spare Axial rod ends, and the flanged ball ends from the Jato rod ends. With the flange on the outside to prevent the rod end slipping off at any stage.

Since the links for this chassis are really for the XR10, i had some issues with the uppers being a little short. I also like my gear case clocked up so i ended up putting some Jato rod ends on the gear case side of the upper links only. The little bit extra length has got the cases clocked where i want them, and has also solved an issue of the right upper getting caught on the end of the gear case during articulation.

Now onto working on the front end.

Front end coming together nicely.

As i did with the back. The front end needed Jato ends on the uppers to get the length. Also did the shock caps this end too.

Time to throw some wheel on and see how she sits. Current wheel base sits at 312mm. Since the maximum is 317mm it's not too bad.

And the Weight is in:

1928grams. Minus ESC's, BEC and receiver.

Also played round with the set up a little more. Didn't like having it so high, so dropped some ride hight.

Got the bullet connecters soldered on the ends of the motor wires.

Moved the shocks to the outsides of the mounts, but still kept the clearance between the tires and shocks/links.

That about calls it for the night.

I feel like i should know this..but which chassis / link combination is that one?

Chaotic crawlers carbon smash 2.0.

The links came with the chassis. They were both made for the XR10 but with a little work ive got them right for the bully2's.

I think. Lol

Looks great..and yeah the shape looks familiar to the stance of the XR10.

I hope you're keeping notes! Im going to need your ideas in a few weeks when my Sudu turns up.

Im liking that shock mod. What does it do for the rig?

I'm really liking the stance of it.
Notes? this thread is my notes!! lol

I got my shocks secondhand. they were attached to a chassis that i wanted. They didn't come with hollow ball ends in the top (cap part) and they are smaller than standard revo type ends. so i (and however had them before me) used a flanged bushing in there instead. Fine for when the shocks are relatively straight. But the more you try to angle them outwards the more they bind up and don't operate smooth. By having the rod end on the end of the shock allows better movement, better angles, and gives the shock a little extra length without having a longer shock body. Having the bent rod end on the bottom smooths up it operation with the larger angle. Idealy i'd have put bent ones in reverse to the bottom on the top. But didn't have any spares in my drawers.

Got around to grinding down the front hubs yesterday between shifts. I could neaten it up a little, but has solved the clearance issues with the knuckle weights.

I did a little bit of a comparison of these motor guards Vs the BWD ones that i have:

First up was weight:

11270451_10206873165727270_5183946713037616099_o.jpg

Bit of a difference in length:

11181847_10206873165807272_7124234168771979095_n.jpg

Much thicker:

Placed my order for electrics this morning. So should be seeing this thing running pretty soon. Then we get to dial it in.

Rig looks great! I'm curious if the rear motor hangs below the lower links at any point during articulation? Just thinking xr rear axles tuck the motor closer to the axle shafts....
