Dont be afraid to have the shocks leaning, just tune with the oil to get it where you like it... also i see Erik has a mid mounting point for the shock, if it was me i would drop down to that one, get the lowest cog with your setup cause the feature opens to give about 40mm extra, i remember when seting my berg up i dropped 20mm from my usual height

Not afraid of the lean...just don't want any bind. I'm back on it in the morning and I'll drop the shocks to the middle hole. Should have seen that. Thanks Mr. H "thumbsup". 20mm seems like a lot...I'll take a measurement before and after

Well, after some fiddling around, I gained 11mm or 7/16" dropping the shock mount..

So, I need to wait until I get some stuff from Dlux. I adjusted the rear shocks and took out the spacing at the chassis...I now have a bit of lean in the rear, not too bad, still articulates but a bit stiffer. We'll wait for the cap mod stuff before adjusting the front.
I started to look at mounting the servo....I have a stupid question...well, maybe not so stupid...here goes
I have about a 30* clock on the front steering geometry
Do I clock the servo to match ? Like the servo arm equal to/parallel to the hub carbon fiber....seems like I want to do that.

X2.. I mounted mine the same.
X3....being parallel with the ground gives the right amount of bottom clearance, link clearance, and you won't have that servo arm sticking up to get you hung up on stuff!

Lol, at least there's a unanimous "What The ...." Parallel looks better
Not sure if there's much of an advantage having the horn straight out as opposed to an upward angle....the underside on the other hand, makes sense, I did not look underneath...probably would have saved this question altogether.

A couple of setbacks this week.
Got everything drilled, tapped screwed put together and mocked up the electronics and discovered my rcvr didn't fit like I had planned...in fact wouldn't fit at all. I did not take into account the hardware to mount the links. So, this is the third option for the rcvr...it will stay Here for now.
Also blew the rcvr when I plugged it in...not sure why, at least I had extras.
This is how it looks now....

The other thing that bothers me is the motormount gear mesh thing.
Not sure why this is kicking my ass...
When I ran the motors, my mesh was too tight in the front motor...So I tried to adjust it...well, I can't even engage the gears now. It took forever to get this the first time...now I get to take it apart and try again. I'm sure I'm doing something stupid.
I'll take it apart again in the morning
Maybe I should work on something else for awhile

Looks good Greg. I would flip that screw for the drag link and tie rod so you don't rip a hole in your voodoos though. You can also look into the Krazed electronics tray so you can take all that off the chassis and put it on the axle. What happened to the test run the week?

I don't like putting it behind the motor...would rather put it on the axle if I can figure out how. That test and tune will happen before long. I see the light as they say...:mrgreen:

You know, in hindsight...I probably should have just built this rig and not make a build thread...then I think, isn't that what this forum is all about?
Put your failures on film....so others may learn.
I still have yet to find a definitive build thread with these DLux goodies....something I could reference to, some pics/suggestions. There are no instructions I can find. Kind of in the dark except the suggestions from all the kind viewers here. If it weren't for a couple guys here I'd be lost. Thanks, you know who you are.
I still haven't completely torn down an axle....tubes off, disassembled tranny etc...that may happen today if I can't figure out how to do the mesh efficiently...
Long story short..I hope this thread helps someone else get started with an unknown. I'd only seen pics of berg axles before...much less build one. And that's just the axles....not to mention the chassis being a bit different

Looks like you got the servo exactly where it should be! The motors can be a bit tricky to get the mesh but once you get it locked down in the right spot you shouldn't have to touch it for a long time. With the electronics if you de-case and smash together you can make a really small unit that may be able to tuck in somewhere else, I would be more than happy to help you out with that if you've never done it. I also prefer the battery on the front of the axle as opposed to behind. Behind the axle has good COG but I found myself getting hung up on stuff with it there. Winners mount would work great for you, just get it as low as possible. Also my biggest reference when I built my axles was Dlux's Berg Build. He has tons of pictures of his set up which helped me tremendously, the pics can be a little hard to find because his build has so many pages. It's looking great though, you are almost ready to run!!!"thumbsup"
