Harley's Axial Wraith Build - Jimmy's 4x4 Ultra 4 KOH Style

Re: Harley's Wraith - NEW VP axle truss just in!

Great thread, lots of great new parts for this chassis! PM sent about the VP axle housings.

Re: Harley's Wraith - NEW VP axle truss just in!

Looking great. I'm upgrading my transmission gears and was wondering, if i need to replace all three, or if the two robinson racing gears will do with the one stock metal gear? Is that one metal gear hardened? thanks

Re: Harley's Wraith - NEW VP axle truss just in!

VP does all that design work and then neglects to widen the truss out the the inner C's, what a waste of time. They could have seriously strengthened the stock housing to fit most peoples durability requirements if they had.

But, then I guess they wouldn't sell as many of there blinging housings huh.

Re: Harley's Wraith - NEW VP axle truss just in!

I wouldn't have extended it out either. I had the opportunity to see the design before the programming began, extending it way out there would just not have been visually appealing IMO. I beat the hell out of my rig and never broke the housing. Plus the impact direction that I would see typically causing breakage would be parallel to the ground, not perpendicular. Of course that's not always going to be the case.

Either way, I dont see an extended truss as something I would be interested in.

Ohhh Vegas, how I love and hate thee so! It's an adult Disney. I always leave wondering where I fit in this world. Post up on your winnings or losings and any stories. The last time I was there we stayed at the Palms and they were shooting a new reality show "Mama Drama". As we sat by the pool, the cameras were rolling on a troop of idiots lounging by the pool. Over the next two days I witnessed the ridiculousness of reality television first hand. One night, I was knocked out of my perch at the bar by the camera crew trying to capture a sister sprouting off: "Let's get some cocktails up in here...and when I mean cocktails...I mean c**k to the tails!". I tuned in to one guy seemingly along for the ride...in the cameras and joining the party. Right before I left I saw him in the casino and had to ask him what it was all about, and he gave me the lowdown. The show had bum rushed him into the action and was hounding him to sign the release forms. He admitted he didn't want any part of it, and was only there to celebrate his brother's birthday. He was as disgusted by the whole thing as I was. If it ever shows up on T.V. you'll see one guy in the background with daggers shooting out of his eyes....This guy! We broke even gambling...which is always good! I Hope you had a great time. It's always an adventure!"thumbsup"

Question:
When you got these accessory kits did you also get the tray that they sit on in the pics that we have seen? If so, how does it attach to the frame and is it easily removable to get to anything that might be under the tray in the original battery box?
