Gun and knife picture thread!

I love all the foldable pointy things recently posted.
Just a few days ago I sold my 26ft trailer to buy a 32ft, and realized 3 hours after it was gone that I left my only pocket knife in there.
It was a decent all black Smith & Wesson, given to me by a friend.
So yeah I'm in the market and this thread is excellent.

If you are looking for a budget but high quality knife, I highly recommend Honey Badger, Civivi, QSP and CJRB brands.

Between them there are innumerable examples of sizes and styles.

Now is a great time to buy knives, never before have we had such a selection available.

Knifecenter and BladeHQ are great places to start your search!

That sucks to loose/leave behind something that has sentimental value And your only pocket knife!

Wait.. Your Only pocket knife!? Lol.... (I can't comprehend leaving the house without 2, on my person).
Spyderco ladybug in my front left and one clipped to my front right.

Anywho...
What was your main uses, for your pocket knife?

I have different sized knifes with different blade steels and shape's.. Depending on what I'm doing for the day or weekend, I pick what I'm going to carry.
Like having the right tool for the job or conditions.

The AR.22 has been through some various iterations, but I think this is what I will settle on long term. I've now replaced the garbage RTB barrel with a Lothar Walther barrel, but I've yet to really group it and see how it performs. Based on other barrels of theirs I own though, I'm sure it'll be fine. It did take some hand fitting of the CMMG barrel collar to get it to run though. Had some free time and snapped some pics yesterday.

Build list

Upper

Right to Bear slickside upper (FA won't work on the CMMG .22 bolt anyway)

Lothar Walther 4.5" barrel

CMMG bolt, barrel collar, and charging handle

Radical Firearms 7" rail

Form 1 suppressor re-cored by Nick at Ecco Machine and Fabrication in CO

Nikon P rimfire 2-7x32 in Nikon 20MOA mount

Lower

Aero Precision M4E1 dedicated pistol lower

Timney Calvin Elite trigger (excellent by the way)

Magpul K2 grip

SB Tactical SBA 3 pistol brace

CIVIVI Knives C905A Elijah Isham Mckenna 2.92" D2 Satin Blade, Tan G10 Handles - the fidget factor is out of this world on this one, it's a small front flipper with incredibly smooth action and a satisfying thwack upon lockup... My picture-taking skills fail to do it justice, I need a tiny tripod or something!

Finally got a DLC M4 Military!
Hoping to get a set of scales done, to match..

Then I went on a knife selling spree.. Dumped 9 knifes. 3 Microtech auto's and the rest spyderco.
Snagged another Foliage Green C95 Manix. They made 600 of these in 2008..
Mine is a little used.. lol

Swap city!!! So, it took me 3 Delica's, to make the top 2 Delica's..
Bought a 2nd St Nick's Delica, some time ago. Just so I had the DLC Hap40 blade..

Until I scored another FG Delica (from early 2000)
So I figured, I'll just do a scale swap and sell the red one.. lol.. No money lost and I get what I want to build.

If you've never used Hap40.. You can tell I don't care for it at all! Lmao

Just another scale swap.. the brown scales in the DLC M390 were ok..
Then a snagged the Foliage Green Manix w/ CTS-XHP. (I already have one but this was new in the box. So I put the new one on my collection and swapped the lightly carried/used one)
Time to sell the Brown/CTS-XHP..

I traded a Spyderco Smock and St. Nick's PM2, for this Beauty!

I use to have one and then sold it to fund my Foliage Green Spyderco buying..
Now I traded back the other way.. lol..

Yeah... Its my ONLY pocket knife. I have owned several but they never seem to stay put. Its like sunglasses or pens.
Buy the cheap crappy ones so you dont freak out when it goes missing, or buy that ONE really nice one so you are forced to tale care of it.

I ended up replacing the Smith & Wesson with...
Another Smith & wesson!
I left it in my truck but I will snap a pic later. Nothing special just a $20 thing from the tactical timmy isle from the exchange on base.
My primary use is... Cutting stuff? More utility than self defense I suppose. I dont EDC because I figure somebody will freak out and scream HES GOT A WEAPON because I live in snowflaketown aka San Diego.

Yeah its my only pocket knife and it will probably be lost, stolen, or given away just like the others before it.
But my non folding knives are kinda cool.
My favorite is a cold steel recon scout my dad gave to me 13 years ago when I told him I was shipping out to africa. Straight out of the game Zelda he goes "its dangerous. Take this."
Still have it and its always going to be my most important knife for SHTF situations.

Anyway this is a thread about knives AND guns.
Took care of the knife situation. Now I need to address the gun situation. Might even start a seperate thread?

So, I'm retiring from the navy after 20 years. I'm selling back a decent amount of leave and decided I would use a fraction of it to buy myself a sort of gift for those 20 years of service. Commemorative? I dunno. But I want it to be meaningful.
I never owned my own 1911 45 auto. My dad had a mkIV 70 series, blue with pachmeyer grips. I thought it was the coolest damn 45 on earth. He always said it would be mine someday.
Well someday came in 2015 and guess what? That damn 45 was nowhere to be found when I went to get the guns from his place. No clue what happened to it.
So thats going to be my gift to myself for 20 years of service.
Looking specifically for a colt 1911 classic. 70 series action. Cheapest colt they make right now. I dont need bells and whistles. I like taking something simple and making improvements where I see it needs them.
Oh and I will get it engraved with my name, rate/rank, years of service on the slide. Oh and my rate insignia at the leading edge as close to the barrel as I can. I'm an IT so it will be lightning bolts or "sparks" as we call em.
I might make my own custom grips with my collar rank devices inlaid too.

So where in the heck do I find a colt 1911 classic in .45 when everything is sold out?
Any ideas? Im not in a rush but sooner would be cooler than later. I retire officially in November.

WAS. I watched a youtube vid that mentioned that. Vid was only a couple months old.
I went to the CMP website and in big red letters it said NO LONGER OFFERING 1911.

kinda bummed but its okay I dont need anything historical.
Thanks for mentioning though.

***just went back to double check and they still sell 1911 in tje auction section!!!
They mist have realized they were selling them for much cheaper than they could have?
Still decently priced and a good handful listed!
Thanks brakeweight!!!

I’m hard on my EDC knives and have a bad habit of losing them.

So I usually carry inexpensive knives.

My current favorites are from Ganzo as well a sweet little Sanrenmu When I want to carry a smaller blade.

Awesome knives fir the money!

Rules...
Finally snapped a quick (and oddly impressive?) Glam shot of my replacement S&W folder just laying on the center console in my truck.

Sámi tool knife. A Northern Scandinavian indigenous thing.. traditional design. It's used for killing, cutting and preparing reindeer meat, etc.

Can basically be used for anything. Even chopping. These knives last a long time. They're quite expensive.

The bottom one is the one I use generally. That version is made for the army and it has a finger guard (essential!).

I don't collect knives, but one is my tool and one I got as a gift.
