Gun and knife picture thread!

This was my Christmas gift from my wife last year. Model 1886 made by Chiappa 26" barrel chambered in 45-70. I've got a lot of different guns but if I could only keep one this would be it.

Chiappa makes some good looking guns. If that steel buttplate ever gets to be too much you can disguise a pad like I did. Find a lace on cover and use a $3 flip flop.

I'm thinking of ordering my first-ever custom knife from Benchmade. Has anyone in here ever ordered a custom knife...especially from Benchmade, and how was the end-result? Right now, it's a toss-up between the Barrage & Crooked River, although I'm leaning towards the Barrage, with S90V steel.

I'm open to alternates, but Benchmade is my #1 choice.

Just for informed information, to give best answer..
Why s90v? Why Benchmade?
What other knife's and steel's do you have?
How are your sharpening skills and what do you use?

Benchmade, because it's my preference...plus, they have their lifetime sharpening warranty (which takes care of answering both parts of your last question). S90V due to the combination of its hardness, ability to maintain sharpness, and durability (of the choices Benchmade has for their custom knives, it's the best in all three categories).

As for other knives, I currently have 2 Benchmade, 1 Spyderco, and 2 Victorinox. Over the years, I've owned several Victorinox, a few Benchmade, an SOG, a KA-BAR, and several Hibben. This only includes my knives...not my swords...and doesn't include any of my handmade & one-of-a-kind knives. Two of my favorites are a knife with a Damascus blade (bought when I used to work the Renaissance Faire), and a one-of-a-kind obsidian blade knife with an elk horn handle (bought on a trip to Alaska...and, no, NOT one of those mass-produced pieces of $100-150 'garbage'). I should also mention that all but two of my swords are NOT "display", or "prop" swords...most are CSA-approved for live combat, while the rest are quite sharp, work some being up to 200 years old.

Honestly, I'm 95% certain I know what I'll go with...just thought I'd inquire, for additional "input".

Ok... Crooked, it would be for me... Barrage is boring and not very good looking..

I think I'm going to have to try and get one of those! I was looking at a LW Native 5 in Rex-45, but got a Rex-45 Shaman..

The Native 5 G-10 is a Beast and handles anything, in s110v! A LW with the wire clip would be sweet!

I can't believe only 600 of them! (So if you get one, try to get me one!(wife's email?)) Lol..

I am going to try to get one if I remember and if I have time at work.

That's an awesome, personal range! "thumbsup"

Beautiful gun!

I love Brake Weight's flip-flip mod too.

The more I think about it, the more I'm looking the Crooked River. Whatever I decide, I wouldn't be ordering it for another 1-2 months...waiting for business to "pick up" a little more first. Besides, I already have another BM ordered that should be shipping in the next few days (currently, a GovX exclusive model).

Sooo.. a little over board? Lol..

New arrivals.. Shaman Rex-45, Delica Super Blue, and Stretch hap40 abuser..

The Shaman is pretty cool but not sure it's a keeper.. I already have a "heavy" use knife..
OG Manix 95, in Foliage Green..
ebde6b8c9e59adbdc00988b630c4d7c0.jpg

Tho I really want to test the Rex-45..
Handle size and length, isn't much different then the Para 2.. (with Manix 95)

But blade weight and thickness is for heavy use.. (with the Stretch and Delica)

Manix 95 with Manix 2, m390

I already have a Stretch, with Boomer52 scales..

As you can see.. the user is/was dropped(I think, because the blade doesn't show much use, but previous owner did a shit job on it) and resharpened..

But I got it!

As for the Delica.. With my Boomer52 lil Para Delica scales.
625c909b1ef8f69cb8e137873739b650.jpg

And if you ever held a Para 2 and it was too big.. and the Para 3 isn't your thing (not my go to for this sized knife. I much prefer the Sage 5, over the Para 3)
Yet you love the feel of the Para 2 and the size of the Delica..
Number 1 route to go, is the Lil Para Delica!
Small in pocket, small in hand, big on capability!

This, obviously, isn't the custom Benchmade I mentioned I'm considering...this is an exclusive tactical, the newest addition to my work "go bag" - Triage Tactical, work cord/belt cutter, and carbide glass-breaker tip.

As for the 'custom', that will probably be ordered within the next two weeks.

Looks like a good problem to have

I need to get a spyderco

Some historical Spyderco models, definitely NOT recent purchases..."thumbsup"

All bought new when still in production.

From the top:

Renegade in GIN-1 w/G-10 scales, Seki City Japan (actually found at 50% off sale at a mall sporting goods store!)

Wayne Goddard Lightweight in ATS-55, Seki City Japan (OK, technically a gift - and from a lady friend, no less!)

Bob Terzuola Jr in ATS-34 w/aluminum scales, Golden, Colorado USA (first custom knifemaker to collaborate w/Spyderco!)

Dragonfly Lightweight in AUS-8, Seki City Japan (my first Spydie!)
