Optic Kit Coming

FYI, yrucec DOT com has connecting links to use with VP Metal Rod Ends to make up metal Steering links for the Hydro Ram.
They're pretty cheap at 11.90 a pair. I also picked up a Jeep looking front grille and a set of the Rear Shock Mounts/fins while I was there. Had to get 2 pair of the links as I'll be 4WS on this build.

Got the first bit of my build started.
Need to edit some video and see how it turns out before I can upload it to the boob.
Painted your hydro ram... Now you need the PSC decals from Freqeskinz accessory pack.

Jumped in and opened Bag C and built the tranny and skid system. Did a youboob live. Going to have to find some good software that is free/cheap and get to learn it before I can edit vids etc so they are decent. So I'll just do it on lives as I have done previously, just not all at once. I'll upload the vid of the F axle build from earlier and get it in the mix along with the tranny build I just finished up a bit ago.

I'm quite glad to see what looks like a Hobbywing 2 in 1 fits in there.

I bought a Hobbywing 1800KV 2 in 1 for my son's Optic kit. I got a $100 Amazon gift card for Christmas, and the 1800KV 2 in 1 was only $80.
It isnt a Fusion, but the Fusion does fit. I've got the SE in my son's Optic. You need to trim/grind the upper link mount on the passenger side of ths skid. The motor pictured is the 2800kv 540L which is available in a combo with the Axe R3.

FOC, bluetooth tuning, 15A BEC, 4s capable with this motor. I've got this setup waiting to go in my Optic.

ETA: I think the 2800 is the highest kv that will fit.

Unfortunately, shipping costs more than the links and YRUREC doesn't offer a distributor in the US. I really have no interest in their other products.

I plan on ordering those myself. There is quite a bit of slop in the factory setup. Probably not going to use the high dollar rod ends though. I think the Traxxas rod ends will be fine.

Hopefully VP starts selling links that length.
I'm sure the Traxxas rod ends will be fine if they are similar in overall length.

It would be a miss on VP's part if they don't offer these aftermarket parts.

I think lighting is the biggest issue with your setup. You need to figure that out. And get rid of the cigs if you want to gain any following.

In terms of video editors, check out FOSS (Free Open Source Software) options. There are plenty and OpenShot, which I have used sparingly myself, is on any free video editing list you may find.

who knows what grease is this ?? its from optic kit , but not the same of vanquish products clear blue grease ...

I always found this curious as well that the kit grease is different than what Vanquish sells. I prefer the gear grease style sold by Vanquish so I'm not sure I ever used the kit grease.

Fusion Pro is only missing Bluetooth tuning!

I listed my carbon fiber panels for $325 on the bookface and they sold in ~5 minutes. I'm sure I could have got more out of them, but I'm happy...means my kit really only cost me about $75.

Fusion Pro is also less kv, weaker BEC, not 4s capable. For my normal trail rigs it is adequate, but for this, I want mo powa.

I'll have to get a pair of them. Just need to find them on a sheet to buy. Guess I could learn how to use this Cricut unit the ole lady has here.

That motor is a tight fit!
Not too bad really 3/16ths clearance or so between end of motor and faux tranny so pretty good really.

As others noted, this is the R3AXE/2800 Combo.

I've been smoking since I was 13 in 1979. I have quit a few times but.... Never be a quitter right? lol All jokes aside, I do need to stop smoking the cigs.
I love the fact the new ESC is 4S and Bluetooth. Will make setup and use simple.

This is likely because the grease in kits is packed up in the kit in Asia sourced by the actual manufacturer.

The aftermarket grease is likely packaged either in the USA or a different location in Asia from a grease specific company.

And grease is not a standard thing like an M3 bolt that looks the same from several different sources.

Well I just meant get the cigarettes and anything related to smoking out of your videos if you want to be taken more seriously. For some reason, I think smoking kind of has its own stigma these days. But now that you mention it, you definitely should quit. You know you should. Now you just have to do it. Make it happen for your loved ones if you won't do it for yourself! My favorite uncle died a couple of years ago. He was 6'4", hilarious, the jokester, life of the party and an overall good guy that everybody loved. He had a larger-than-life personality with the physical presence to back it up. My dad and I went to visit him knowing the end was near. When we walked into the room, we had no idea that he was on his death bed. He laid there dying of cancer - cancer that started in his lungs. He was heavily medicated due to the pain and in and (mostly) out of consciousness. In one of his rare moments of clarity that day, do you know what he said to us? "I wish I never smoked." My aunt/his wife told us that after we left, he never really opened his eyes again. He was dead the next day. He's one of the rare people I feel guilt for not visiting more often. He was a father figure and hero growing up. I regret not making way more efforts to see him. One of my favorite people ever. Don't do this to your loved ones.

My thoughts exactly about why there are two different greases. And by that same logic, the kit grease is probably the lower quality stuff.

Just bought a set of Trepadors on Amazon because there is a 25% off coupon right now. $52.88 for a full set isnt bad.

My son's kit is drivable. I need to order another programmer for the fusion, as my last one somehow got squished and i need to reverse the rotation. Also need to swap hubs. These are 350s. Going to swap to 475. I need to get some petg CF and print new panels. The pla panels were kinda messed up.

Hmmm... Interesting - right now, the YRUCEC.com site comes up as :

Sorry, this store is currently unavailable.

I like the idea of using this type of link and almost ordered some a week or so ago, except the price of these plus the Vanquish rod-ends was a bit steep. What would be great would be if we could find another product that would serve the same purpose, or maybe someone will release a less expensive version.

Just a comment on smoking: if you try to quit because you think you should, it's unlikely that you will be successful. When the day comes that you decide that you don't want to smoke anymore, well, that's the day you'll quit.

Some folks have been using the shorter linkage from the VFD twin shift linkage kit. It is available from Vanquish, but they are $9.99 each and you need two. IRC00073

Thanks!

This is the type of reply that makes our forum great...😎

Ok, I'll spin the wheel again because it's my lucky day - what pinion size is recommended with a Fusion Pro 2300kv - the RTR comes with a 15t, versus the kit 13t...?

Is anyone running the Fusion with the lightweight gearset that includes the 21% overdrive?
