Jato the Trail King

Sorry to hear your body mounts also "lean"...tho, in my case, technically, it wasn't the body mounts, but the shock towers (which the body mounts attach to). Switching to the aluminum shock towers resolved the problem. As for the body, glad what you preferred appears to be workable. I've taken a "break" from finishing my Trail King, as I'm finally working on a Rustler 4x4 project ("Project Predator") that I started planning 7-8 months ago...tho, I will get back to the Trail King in the (very?) near future. Good luck with yours...not that you need any 'luck'.

I think mine is a combo of both the body mounts and shock towers leaning with the majority of it caused by the shock towers.

Jato, I dig the body. I think it'll look killer.

Thanks! I can't wait to get it painted. Definitely going multi-colored. I'm thinking two tone.

Jato.... that body is a perfect fit for the TK. I can’t wait to see your color scheme. Do you plan on painting the outside of the lexan?

Thank you! "thumbsup"

I'm going to pay somebody to paint this one and it will definitely be shiny so no paint on the outside. Why do you ask?

I’ve been seeing more and more bodies painted on the outside lately. I believe they paint them silver or rust color on the inside and hit the outside with their final coat. The outside paint adds some depth and makes the body look more realistic. Either way it will look fantastic I’m certain!

Oh no. I don't plan on doing that. Painting on the outside of the Lexan gives it a matte finish.

Wow, wish I'd seen this before! I finished mine in the fall of 2020 and got it out once with 4.19s and a Toyota four runner body, discovered the same things with the axle screws and went back and fixed that, used Samix brass shock spring retainers so I could loosen the springs and not lose the retainers, also used the same motor/esc combo, last thing I apply my grease with those small brushes the plumbers use for flux, nice and stiff and cheap enough to toss!

Gee...going to build one of these so browsed this build thread...looking really great, then nothing? Did it run? Did the Chevy get painted?

I'm going to use my Silverado cab with the proline truggy back half. BFG's on method style wheels.

Post up a pic or it didn't happen!

Take a look at the Jato thread in Chit Chat and you'll understand. His girlfriend passed away, and he hasn't been RC'ing much.
