its time! full on BWD mini mantis.. test, tune an crawl!

Lookin good there Troy! If you need any custom mounts made my mill is up and running

Now your inspiring me to get my mini back in the running 8)"thumbsup" sometimes you just got to tear it all apart and put it back together to find that problem that you couldn't figure out!

About time Calvin! Like I having been working on you to get that done FOR-EV-ERRRRR ago.... Lol..

We had a comp yesterday and got one video.. The "easiest" of the day, I heard said..

I got 2nd place, at the max physical performance of the chassis.
There are certain type of climbs the little guy just won't make. The same gate 7 yesterday was the death of me in the 3rd course at ECC on gate 9.. Oh well, it does everything else better.. :)

Back from BG and caught up on some sleep. I'm ready to give a update.
The new foam/weight setup, really brought the mini doo's to life! A couple spots they were kicking dirt back off a ledge I was crawling. Gave it a blip, the rig jumped up a inch and you could literally see the front tire grip on and bring the belly of the rig into the rock, as they bit and beat that ledge into submission! This just happen to be the one spot that it was so noticeable, that everyone noticed..

The rig worked great, the HH mini was spot on with all the needs, like the HH motors in all my rigs. I have yet to find a situation where the Holmes motors aren't at the top of the food chain!
My Cw crawlers steering arms held up great and continue to take the abuse I give them!

Were you high on course #2?.......lol

Awesome videos to get my fix while I'm not doing any RC stuff through the week.....stupid work....

Baahahahaha.. Crawling is my "getting high".. So kinda ;) ...

But no.. My shafty and mini shafty scores weren't so spectacular! The pro was, well, pro.. I drive that while I'm sleeping, so I'm good there.. Lol..

I was up till 2a.m. getting rigs ready, back up at 5 to load the car an be on the road at 6 to get there at 9.. Ahh, what do ya do..
Got a zero for the day.. It was my second worse score all season! I had a 14 at the one comp

Well.... Been a while..

had the last comp of 2014 two weekends ago and the 1st comp of 2015 on Sunday..

I'm happy to report, I have pulled 1st place finishes out of both.
No video for the ole girl these time's. No camera man for 1.9 employed.. :ror:

Maybe a new chapter coming.. ;)

So I took to the rocks at World's, with high hopes for the last Major comp for the mini mantis..
Had a small issue with the knuckle weight catching the jagged rocks in RI..
The wheel weight ended up kicked out into the wheel and Killing performance!
Didn't know what it was on the first course(DNF). Checked it over for the 2nd course, "fixed" it, and went at it.. Well, not far into the course, same thing happened.. UGH!!! Why!?.. Why now!?
Knew at this point, podium was gone for me.. :'(
So I fixed it again and ran the 3rd course.. Killed it and felt great!
Then the llloooonnngggg 4th course..
All is well thru gate 4, then it happened again! I managed to finish the course, as the knuckle weight only really effected performance during turning right, an his was s long straight course with some nice gates...

Landed on 6th place at World's and a little bummed..

BUT.... well.. I guess I'll save that for the next post.. ;)

All in all, a Awesome time and can't wait for next year's comps to start!

Well guys an gals... It's been almost 2 years of building, modding, changing, upgrading, crawling, comping, and a few wins to go with it, along the way..

She's been called All kinds of names.. Took everyone like a champ!
She's been from Cali to RI, with Alabama, Ohio, and all of PA between..

as with everything, time changes all things..

So I'll be starting a new rig and borrowing some parts.. (for now)..

Like, Everything but the chassis! 8o
Haha, no, just the drive train, electronics, an links..

But I think I might have some options left, laying around for rebuild..

Dravpnir wrapter's are goin to look Sick on it! (Or maybe on the other one that didn't get a built/rebuild thread yet.. Hmmm)

So a rebuild will be in order..
