Gun and knife picture thread!

Picked up a couple of old .22 single shot bolt-actin rifles as 'project' guns, fun at the range and you don't go through as much ammo, they both work fine and are pretty accurate. They were made in Germany during the early sixties, known as Garden Guns, or Boys Guns, one is a Voere and the other is an Anschutz.

50 yard line

Voere 1964 with a Simmons 4x32 fixed scope

Anschutz model 1361E

After sighting in the scope, bottom, and a six shot group at the top, not bad for a first try at 50 yards.

While celebrating the election results this afternoon, I stopped by my local gun shop and picked up a victory rifle(if we would have lost it would have been a "panic buy" rifle).

Since it was a celebration of the US Presidentail Election, decided to purchase a US rifle for a change instead of another Com Block AK.

Picked up a nice Aero Precision AC-15 Carbine and a bunch of mags they had on sale.

Sorry for the crappy pic, it was dark by the time we got home.

I'll post better pics later. "thumbsup"

Im thinking of a celebratory pistol. I'm wanting a hand cannon and looking at Ruger's Super Redhawk Alaskan or the Kodiak Backpacker. Ive located a Backpacker and may just go ahead and spend the money while I can grab it.

Stock photo I found.

For hand cannon check out bond arms pistols Granbury TX. Major hand cannons

Ive got one of the Snake versions as a heirloom from my FIL. I have yet to shoot it after having it 3 years or so. It feels very solid and looks good. He suggested that I 'hang on and mean it' before shooting it.

These derringers are more of a last ditch effort.

Oh a snake...this is gonna hurt.

Oh a mugger...this is gonna hurt.

The short barreled Redhawks are a handful, too. But there is more weight to them. I've watching dozens of youtube videos on them and think I can manage it...think. I've got a long barrel 629 and it has less recoil than a snub .38.

My new Ruger American 8334. .22lr "Predator". Cheap bipod, cheap 3x9x40 Simmons scope. Time to kill some paper and squirrels :lmao:

Have a 7" Super Redhawk in .454 Casull. I hunt with it, not sure I would want a snub .44 though..

I scoped my .44m 629 last fall and never took it out aside from a sight in. It has very little kick with the long barrel. The cheap red dot may not even hold true for many shots either. Infatuated with .44m for a little while, I got a visually matching Rossi 92.

The little Anschutz I picked up was looking a little worse for wear, so a make over was needed. I stripped it down cleaned it, blued the bolt handle and cocking knob, touched up the barrel and action , removed all the old varnish off the stock, steamed out some dents and gave it a few coats of Tru-Oil, looks much better now.

Looks good. But I know some collectors that'd string you up for that.

Thanks!
You are right, keeping it all original adds to the collectors value, these German made "Garden Guns" are not rare or considered collectable items, although there are some that are special, but not this cheap model.

First time at a range in 6 or so years. Aguila cheapo ammo and a $30 scope, shot off the $30 bipod and my back hand. 40 or 50 yards out, wasn't marked. Gotta find more time in my schedule to get out more, I really enjoyed a day at the range. 5 shots on each :ror:

My newest EDC. My first(hopefully last) Leatherman Charge tti. Check out the blade material! And it's razor sharp. 25 year warranty if I jack something up on it. I doubt it I'm pretty respectful of my stuff.

I've had a Gerber Dime a couple years now, I find the package opener piece getting used nearly daily. For the cost I'd say it's worth it. Light duty pliers but they're precise. The scissors near useless. Blade can take an edge but don't hold well. On the plus side of that it doesn't bother me to use it for stuff I don't mind boogering it up a little on and later honing the edge a little. The pointed stubby is supposed to fit into Phillips head screws and it works surprisingly well for that. $20 well spent with how much I've used it and the shape it's in still. Pocket carried and all still tight.

Turns out $30 scopes are $30 for a reason. I had to refocus the Simmons after every magazine, got old fast. I also wanted a bit more magnification for the 100 yard range, along with a reticle other than a duplex. Most of the 4-12 scopes around $200 seemed very basic, definitely for hunting. Then I found the Cabela's Covenant 4-16x44 "tactical" model. 30mm tube, side parallax adjustment and a super tactical reticle. Even came with a nice rubber cover. SFP for my first not cheap scope, I'll be shooting almost always at known distances, and I don't have the slightest idea how to use MOA gradients anyway :lmao:

Update from me, the LC9s now has over 300 trouble free rounds. I'll be honest I went a head and started carrying it after just shooting a box through it. It shoots MUCH better than the 709 did.

Although I just switched to the Canik a couple of weeks ago because the weather has gotten cooler, this was/is my warm weather current set up. MUCH better holster...

And a couple of recent targets from both guns at SD range. Nothing to brag about really but it was rapid fire. Obviously X's were POA.
