Gun and knife picture thread!

So it turns out the 16 inch ESS barrels that were installed on the AMD I purchased recently are pretty much garbage.

The gas ports are improperly drilled and the Rockwell hardness is way off (mine had a RC rating of just over nine 9). So I had the barrel replaced with a 14.37 inch 4150 Nitrided barrel from AKBuilder and had the muzzle device pinned and welded to bring it out to the legal minimum length.

I think it looks much nicer and I now have the confidence that the barrel will out last me. "thumbsup"

Here are the pictures of my victory rifle I purchased after Trump was elected.

Changed up the furniture and add an extended lenght M-Lok rail to it.

Need to order a good hand stop and some rail covers, but I think it's looking pretty good.

Nice AR. I have several aero parts on my ARs. I built an Aero M5 in .308 and used their M4E1upper and their quantum rail on my .300blk. Who makes the handguard? I think it looks nice out past the FSB but does it require the Delta ring to be there? I'm curious because I never saw a free float tube that requires the Delta ring.

It's odd. I've posted a few times in this thread but I don't have any pictures of any of my guns to post. One of these days I'll pull out my DSLR and take some. My cell phone camera is terrible.

I think the hand guard in from Strike Industries, picked it up at a local gun show from one of the dealers "used".

It uses the delta ring and the bayonet lug to secure the lower section.

The top section is then bolted to the lower.

I like the extra length so that I can stretch out my support arm a bit longer.

Still need to pick up a hand stop and install it.

I have a magpul afg 2 on my 16" at but am going to replace it with a bipod mount. I had it set up as my "go to" rifle but now that I have my 8" 300blk sbr complete (my stamp came in August) I put a scope on the 16". Truth be told the afg was wider than I would have wanted it to be. SLR Rifleworks makes some nice hand stops that also can be used to press against barricades for support. They aren't expensive either. I believe they make them for m lock or keymod.

I really like the LaRue handstops. They mount off to the side, and are designed to hook into the web between your index finger and thumb. They're polymer, so you can cut them down if you wish, as I did to make room for my sling anchor point.

I like that design, Do you know if they make them to be M-Lok compatible?

If not, I have a few sections of M-Lok pic rail I could use, just trying to keep things as minimal as possible.

K-I-S-S!

No, but because it slides on over the rail section, it doesn't feel like it sticks out so to speak. I had an AFG, hated it. Went to these and I'm running them and the clips on both my ARs.

This looks pretty nice as well. Never tried one but it would sit closer to the rail then the LaRue with the added rail section.

This is the one I was leaning toward.

I see these are on sale, I think I'll pick one up and try it out.

If I don't like it, I'll give it to my boy, he still likes to run a quad rail on his AR.

Do I have to take the gun to a doctor and have it cough before participating in shooting sports?

Will I have an overwhelming urge at a crowded public range to scratch my handstop?

Custom AR upper: $1,162

Custom AR lower: $679

Getting to grab a ball sack every time you shoot your $2,000 rifle: priceless

I hope you're not talking about the gun in that pic above. I make "custom" lowers, and there's really not much "custom" to them, except for tolerances; unless you want one of those fancy skull castings, I guess.

First one I cut:

Tolerances are as close to nominal as I can measure with company's instruments (within .0003"). Cut about 50 since. Sales have slowed down since Killary lost, though.
