Gun and knife picture thread!

Absolutely nothing special, just a new target gun for me. Savage Arms Mark II FXP bolt action, and it came with the Bushnell 3-9x40. I'm going Thursday to try it out and see if I like it or if I want another scope.

Looks like fun!

Put another 82 rounds through the 709 this past Monday. Still no issues and I'm growing more fond of this little gun every time I shoot it.

So I'm a little under 150rds so far. I'm probably going to put another couple hundred through it and call it good to go if it keeps cycling as it has been.

Ammo so far has been a mix of White Box, PMC, Blazer, Tula and Browning.

Desided to add another AK varient to the cache before the November election.

Picked up a Hungarian FEG "AMD65".

This one was built with an improper lenght US made barrel, but I found an original AMD65 barrel on GB that I plan to have installed at some point in the near future.

Awesome little rifle for sure, light weight, compact, and portable!

These are all %100 hand made & hand stitched... I made them all pretty much custom per the owners requests, a few I just made and someone liked it and bought it. Included are a .380, a 1911, two .38s, and few Glocks full size (22) and compact (43), and a PX4 Storm. Seems like I've made a few more than that but, these are the ones I had pictures of on my PC.

I have also tried my hand at making my own leather holsters, some did not work out, but after a good few tries I did manage to get two that woek for EDC. <a href="http://s478.photobucket.com/user/cayminlast/media/DSCN6342_zpsftoopghm.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i478.photobucket.com/albums/rr145/cayminlast/DSCN6342_zpsftoopghm.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo DSCN6342_zpsftoopghm.jpg"/></a>

I made this as a copy of a 'Summer Special' type IWB.

Here is my most recent addition, mainly for home defence. Savage Stevens 320 12 gauge. I found it on sale for less than $200 out the door, with two boxes of target ammo thrown in the deal. I didn't care for the pistol grip stock, so I fitted an old Rem. 870 wooden one.

Got some 000 buck 8 pellet to have it ready. I went to the range and put four boxes of various target loads through it without any problems.

I sold one of my ARs a while ago and since the $$ was at the dealer I bought a new Glock 22. I have a GenI G23 and didn't want to customize it cuz they hold their value better. So I scooped up the G22 so I could go to town on it.
I can't shoot pistols for sh1t, my eye sight, the iron sights and the target are damn near impossible for me, but I can shoot reddots pretty good.
Started with some slide cuts.
20160904_120817_zpsgo6gsgnl.jpg

Grip cuts on the front with a bullnose cut and some slots on the roof.
Then tons of reading and youtube to figure out the Trijicon RMR pocket cuts.
Not alot of info out there.
20160904_132945_zpslmblklat.jpg

And mega-hours into sanding and stippling. Not just hours in stippling the frame but hours of practice on other stuff, like my Airtronics TX before I tried to destroy my G22.
20160905_125847_zpsicx1sjlv.jpg

Stipple pattern is a Starbust in snakeskin. Not finished but almost done.
Once I finish the frame, the slide will be sent for NIBoron coating to match the RMR. Posiibly the frame to Cerakote in FDE.
All this and I still haven't shot a single round through it yet.
Very fun project though.

I did, at the grip and under the guard. Now I need to figure out how to polish it.
I've heard that you can use one of those mini butane soldering torches to gently 'burnish' the area's that have been worked with the flame, but I have never done or tried that, so don't take my word for it.

That sounds alot more scary than a buffing wheel on a dremel.
Probably find a youtube on it.

I polished mine with varying grits of sandpaper wet and dry wrapped around the handle of a roll pin punch that was just the right size. I'm sure if you look close enough, it might not match just perfect, but I can't spot it if it doesn't. Mine is a carry gun anyway, so it's not a huge thing for me, the ergos are though.

Yea, the dremel drums are great meat getters but you cant expect a good finish from them. The coarse roll does it's job but the fine will load up a scar the plastic worse than the coarse. I've been slowly working mine with journal paper wrapped around an old emaxx shaft. It's smooth now but needs to get to that polished state.
I need to go to the hardware store today to find a lag to pull the channel liner out before I send the slide out for coating, so I'll see what I can use for polishing the plastic. Orchard doesn't have the greatest selection of dremel stuff, might start with some cratex.

An update from me- the 709 didn't make the cut. Around 300rds it developed a trigger issue causing it to not fire. Bought a TCP after that. At around 100rds it also developed a trigger issue causing it not to fire. Needless to say I'm done with the brand.

So I decided (I hope) to up my game a little and bought this today. I went ahead and invested in a extra mag and cheap holster with the confidence in all of the positive reviews out there. Here's hoping. Going to put a couple boxes through it tomorrow. I REALLY like the trigger, feel is great and the build quality is on another level from the cheap Bull's I had.

Reliability is what I'm after, and so long as it is I think we'll get along just fine.

Oh, and the Canik is approaching 1000rds failure free! God how I wish they made a sub compact version of that. I'd buy it in a heartbeat.

How adequate this thread popped up on top "thumbsup"

I need a little advise / feedback and this might be the place.

So i have been thinking about getting myself a little folding knife for EDC, off course this is illigal here in Denmark, but to be honest i dont give a damn, cuz its not like i am going to get shit faced on the "liquid state drug" ( alcohol )
And plunge the sucker into some dumbass.
So i have been looking around on the interweb ( in German stores mostly )

And i have sort of fallen in love with the SOG ZM1006-CP

Zoom Mini - Partially Serrated - Black Tini - Knives - Everyday Carry

But i wanted to hear what you guys think, or if you have any alternatives in the same price range.

Like for " yes go buy it" - and type something if you have issues with my "target"

Griptilian

That is my EDC

I prefer a blade without a colored coating for every day use because the black will wear off over time.

I also prefer a straight edge without the serrations.

Nothing wrong with your choice.

Having a blade when you need it is the point of EDC. When I traveled Europe I took my swiss army.
Less intimidating look and it has a corkscrew
