only have long guns, due to some hand strength issues, limited in round selection, but have been looking for a .22 plinker pistol of some sort. since i had throw some oil on for winter, decided to get out the camera.
first up is my first gun, marlin 25mn in .22 mag flavor. i still enjoy shooting this rifle, it has been a rock solid farm gun for many years. thinking of getting back into target shooting, and this gun has always felt just right, and shoots true. still have my firearms safety tag on the case.
next is the newest to me, a mossberg 185 k-b in 20 gauge. this was bought for ma, she is used to the bolt action on my marlin, and wanted something she could use if a raccoon decided to be brave. shoots well, not sure about the whole adjust-a-choke on the muzzle. not the best in the world, but got it for a great price.
forgive the action being closed on this, but this is my favorite of the three. its a baikal izh-27em-ic in 12 gauge, modified choke on the lower tube, full on the upper, and lower fires first. very smooth, light, and reliable shotgun that has seen many, many, many rounds next to the thrower. its quick to shoulder, easy to sight, and recoil is pretty well nil with winchester universal shells (don't see the point in getting expensive shells for friendly rounds around the thrower). this was my dad's, passed down after he died.
for an edc knife, i have a leatherman surge, i would rather have a single blade, but i was carrying a pliers, cresent wrench, and screwdriver before this as well as the knife. no picture, they are common and easy to find pics.
a note, i'm not a hunter. i love target shooting, its a calming time that really gives me the warm fuzzy feeling at the end of the day. hunting has never truly hooked me, i've been coyote hunting in south dakota as well as wild boar on the king ranch when one of our customers offered to take us out. between the blood (vomiting is common) and a few other things, its not for me. set a target up or throw a clay in the air, and i'm all in.
