I took a pic of the damage,
but it does not show how truly messed up it looks.
I know some would say its not that bad but I like to beat up my rigs
on the rocks and trails, not on the workbench, and this really disappointed me.
But Im not a quitter! Just look at my drinking and smoking!!! :lmao:
If it comes down to it, I can get another body shell with decals,
but I may try to hide it with a bug shield instead.
A bug shield on a geared down, trail running, rock humping Defender 90,
now thats funny! About as usefull as a belly button on Adam and Eve!!!
(think about it, go ahead, take your time......)
So with all that in mind, Ill just kept pressing on....
I still have to put in my driver figure, and show how I made a half
naked wrestler figure look like he was wearing a Tshirt. (as in the Mog)
Thats why I made my roof a snap-in piece,
and I decided to try the same with the windshield.
Putting things together and pulling them apart a hundred times
for test fitting just beats up your details and paint,
so these snap in parts helps to keep things in shape,
and its just a lot easier to get into the interior.
My mirrors came with the roof rack I decided to try out.
Duratrax 1/10 Roof Rack & Side Mirror Set
After looking at them I realized not only would they work OK on the
Dingo, but if I did things right, I could use them and their
mounting screws to make the entire windshield piece snap in place.
This would keep my mirrors from getting busted up too,
while I work on the rest of the outer details,
as I can just remove the whole winshield frame.
I think the pics show more than I could explain in words,
and I have to tell you, it holds in tight enough that I will
just be leaving it as is after the build is done.
Past that I glued on my diamond plate pieces on the hood,
and even used that DAMNED Toluene to thin the ShoeGoo a bit again.
But I learned my lesson,
and used the mixed glue much more spareingly so none would squeze out
past the edges like the grill did, which caused all my issues
in the first place....
Still to come is that driver figure,
custom OEM type bumpers,
my method of building bumper mounted tow shackles,
light system install,
snorkel fabrication,
possibly a rectangular water bucket/jug carrier and mold build,
the other scale details I havent even thought of/built yet
and whatever else comes into mind and play.
Oh yeah, and a bug shield LOL! :lmao::lmao::lmao:
