Good shock option

I have no choice, the only game in town:) and they do throw in a file in every package...so they must care somewhat. haha
and the product works well and is made of derlin. If someone else takes the time to manufacture these little Derlin shock pistons to perfection for the same price, then i'll order from them instead:) These are just toys though and these work just fine for now!
Now I know they add a file, just turns me off even more ... I'd rather buy a sheet of Delrin and make my own personally if they were my only choice. As you said, just for toys and doubt I'd go to this extent for tuning these lil rc shocks.

I'm totally with JimrC here. That's just ghetto not finishing parts and instead shipping a file along with the parts to do your own finishing. To me that says a ton about the company and the person behind it.

You guys are funny:) and picky!!....Good luck to you both in your derlin machining operation. LOL. Cutting derlin this small and round is notas easy as one would think and why he machines them;) FYI he's not using a knife or scissors to cut these out...it would hardly be worth it if he did. And why don;t you start you own company then and put out perfection!...my goodness.haha give this guy a break. Really like to see how you guys fair

I am picky. I think all consumers should be picky with their money and not accept sloppy and unfinished products like those pistons. I don't care if those are RC pistons. Sloppy and unfinished work is exactly what that is. I don't know how anybody could even argue that with any seriousness.

It just so happens that I've specced and requisitioned many pistons and blades made from Delrin at a former employee. None arrived unfinished like shown in his photos or I would have complained. Delrin is known for excellent machinability. He obviously needs a better process.

The "why don't you start your own company" argument always comes out when the person runs out of points to argue. You should know that's not a reasonable response to an adult conversation. Give him a break for subpar quality? Why? Is he going to give a pricing break for unfinished parts? I'd never give him a cent for those pistons.

ok;). i dumb and you're superior. I should have made my own pistons and sent him an email on how terrible his product is and how it's a disgrace to the RC community. Give me a break and get over ourselves already.. Anyways my 2 cents. The time he invested is making this subpar product was worth it to me...i don't want to even try to cut these out myself and the fact they are 95% there is all i needed.

Again, I don't understand that response. I wasn't attacking you. You were getting defensive and poking at me simply because I didn't want to spend my money on what I thought was an unfinished product. 🤷‍♂️

I get it!
Just was not wanting to knock the guy this bad for something he obviously took some time and effort to put out there. Sure, he could have spent another 5-10 minutes cleaning mostly fuzz of these pistons and i would have if it was my company, but whatever, running a company and probably a "side" company at that can't be easy

Unfortunately shock prices are ridiculous. I’m all about budget and have tried cheap sets of shocks with terrible results. I was given a set of expensive shocks at one point and they leaked just as bad as the cheap ones. Though they did cycle smoother. I ended up trading them to a buddy for some stock Trx-4 shocks. My suggestion is the Traxxas GTS shocks. I use green slime when I build them and have had great results with them. I will definitely be watching this thread as I’m in need of a set of shocks for my OG dingo.
I’ve bought a lot of expensive shocks and a lot cheap shocks. They all seem the same to me. All shocks will leave risdiudal oil I’ve never owned a shock that didn’t slowly leave oil. Everyone says their shocks leak because of this. I just checked my vrd shocks and they are all half full, i filled them 3 months ago.

That said, I heard many great things about the traxxas gts shocks

Best shocks for me have always been the Traxxas TRX-4 take-offs and Element aluminum shocks (not the SE shocks).

If you have the money, the Dlux Ultra shocks are even better and can be ordered in multiple custom configurations - colors, lengths, come with 2 spring stiffnesses... pre-assembled or unassembled.
