Welcome to RCC!!!
Yes, we do read the newbie posts.
You'll find plenty of reading throughout the forum, and we do have a clod section, you should find helpful when building your claw. Use the search feature, and if you can't find the answer there, most will be more then willing to help if you ask.

Finally getting into r/c after waiting sooo long

My name is Travis and I from the Great Plains of the U.S.A.
Been wanting to get into r/c's ever since I was a kid, but money and/or parents wouldn't allow it. Now, 38 yrs later, I finally decided to start the childhood again.
I currently own a SCX10 Dingo and a 1/10 Slash 4x4.

I have also started building a small course in the backyard. I should have some pics up very shortly of what the framing looks like and am collecting rocks and such to get it going.

Very excited.

My name is Monkey and I'm a crawlaholic...

Seriously though, I'm an old fart and began doing R/C in the 70's with gliders and nitro boats. My kids are grown and I got nobody (wife passed away) to bitch at me for buying models. Mainly I'm into building electric cars and helis.

My brother bought me a LNC last year. I've played with it a little. Last weekend I went to a crawler meet/rally and entered. I had a great time, and actually cleared several gates. The people there were the best! Everyone was very encouraging, and I look forward to going back.

Newbie checking in

Hello All,

I'm an absolute Noob in RC and crawling. I got a WK for my son for Xmas and after lurking in a local forum I ordered an AX10 RTC for me, which I used today for the first time (and managed to break a driveshaft in the first 10 minutes :) which was quickly fixed with the help, tools and parts of the guys I went with, which I had just met (what a wonderful crowd crawerls are)

I will be reading a lot and hopefully that will answer most of my starting questions.

I live in Chile, South America. Please excuse my poor English, it is a second language for me.

Take care.

Panz

Greetings, FNG here.
New to the RC world, had a couple Nylins (sp). Some low buck toys, no real RC Crawler yet. Looking at a Max Stone, a Mad Torque or a Red Cat Super Crawler. Been doing the real thing the past 30 years.

Hello all, Here's my obligatory intro post that nobody's going to read... ;-)

Anyway, over the last few months I've gotten back into RC cars. I built a dual brushless Zilla II to start:

Next, I built my Son an oldschool Hornet for Christmas, and his own Zilla II for his B-day:

We broke both Zillas out in the snow the other day, so they're both torn apart and in bags right now waiting on parts to arrive.

I ordered Aluminum cases, axles, and knuckles for mine, and CPE inner and outer axle stiffeners, and CPE's quick change axle tube kit for his. He also bought a Traxxas evx2 and muliplex 600 motors for his. Getting rid of the MSC and stock cans.

I just picked up a CPE Claw from the classifieds on RCMT and a set of Clod axles from Ebay. That's why I'm here... I'll post up a build thread and I'll be asking some Noob questions shortly! :ror:
Hi,

You have a few "locals" in Ringwood & Wanaque, we are also on www.GSRCRC.com
Once snow clears, we do a GTG in RIngwood."thumbsup"

Figure I'd do my Newbie post here.....
Started RC's (sailplanes) in the 70's, then road/carpet 12th & 10th (RC12e, i, l RC10L) along with an offroad buggy (JRX-2).
Sorta dropped out until my son (also on here) got old enough.
Then picked up a Duratrax buggy for him and brought out my JRX-2.
Last fall dragged out the pan cars (run @ DirtRunners & Xtreme Hobbies, both in NJ).
Last spring my son found RC crawling and bought a used Axial shaftie, then switched to a Venom Creeper that is now running his own chassis.
For Christmas he built me a 2.2 Bully rig with used parts from here & GSRCRC.

The people we've met in RC crawling have been a great group of guys and very helpful.
My son comped 1/2 of last season, we will both comp this season."thumbsup"
Not sure how we will do when you look at the people we will be comping with (Turbofest, Scatterbrains, Art1c, Dezmoon, Marzzzzz, etc) but we will have fun.

Hey,
Ive been into RC since I was in 6/7th grade, I am in college now. I am headed for a path in Mechatronics Engineering and robotics. I recently purchased a Venom Creeper, put it together, fun stuff...I have always been a go faster guy rather than slow and patient. I am looking at getting a G-MADE R1. But I am basically here to check out everyone's designs for the robotics project I am working on.

Thanks for the opportunity to learn,
-b00m
