I'm sorry to hear about you being partially paralyzed but i'm happy to see so many people joining this forum and getting into RC crawling! Someone may say something and/or delete some of your posts and/or lower your post count since you made 10 posts to explain what could have been in 2-3 but i am no mod so i could be wrong but from what i've read so far they say your not suppose to do that.

What's up fellas? I am Highwaystar, I am a total newb to crawling. I've had a large scale gasser or two though. I am from Monticello In. I am going to be starting a crawler/ formula off road project very soon. This looks like the place to be for great info.

Four years reading... first post today. LOL

Hey everyone! I've been here a long time and in the radio control hobby for a much longer time. Yes, the search function works really well because over the last four years, I have had every one of my questions answered with the search button. "thumbsup"

So about me... I live in Bend, Oregon. I've been into anything RC since I was a kid. Back in 2007 I started building a crawler on a K2-3L chassis with TLT axles and a Stampede transmission. I was seriously low budget so I was trying to work with all old electronics and a number of homemade parts. I never did get it working right and put it away for a long time. Sometime in the last few months, I was out for a walk at a local park and I ran into the guys fro CORCRC on their bi-weekly get together. I chatted them up for a bit and went right home and dug out the half finished crawler again and everything magically started working! Serendipitous, one might say! It crawls, but still is without a body. Now I'm stuck because there is so much support for crawlers out there that a guy can go all scaler or all comp with a million variations in between! I am hooked and I think I'll be back for a while this time!

I just bought a RC4WD Diablo and am still waiting for it. The anticipation is KILLING me! LOL! I wanna crawl! :)

Hey, I am a Crawling Newbie, And hoping to get my AX10 very soon. I live in Melbourne, Australia. I'm mainly going to crawl for fun, but I wont rule out any comps later down the track. If any one else In melbourne knows of some good places to crawl nearby, It would be greatly appreciated if you could drop me PM.

I am totally new to any of the RC stuff, my Name is Chadd, from Va Beach Virginia. I have the SCX-10 Honcho RTR, haven't gotten to drive it yet but looks to be a blast. got into this because I like the more realistic stuff, and the vast abilitiy to modify it to your liking. am sure that I will have questions, sure some of them will be newb ones, but will search first before asking, as I know I will get flamed for not using it. but just wanted to introduce myself. will post as I get into building a different body/rig. thanks and have a good one."thumbsup"

Doin my part to support the scene

I moved this post from other thread. wrong place.

I am now a member after months of lingering on the fringes and stealing info to feed my new addiction. Thank you all for already for providing me with info my LHS seems unwilling or unable to give. You all have moved me along and steered me in proper direction.

I have a micro crawler and a project BWD SSS-revolution. The MRC has been hacked up, bent up, stretched, flipped, parts relocated and stripped, lightened and weighted, disassembled and reassembled, and is generally the bastard child of a Guinea pig that serves as my test bed and RC learning tool. The SSS-r is currently sitting on the shelf waiting for attention and an ESC. (i just bought it off craigslist)

I have never been into RC before. For some reason it has always had the appeal similar to driving through west Texas...boring. Something about flat streets and eventually some jumps involved never tickled my fancy. Then I found the MRC at the LHS when going in to purchase my nephew a Christmas present. I was like "great...! He wont be driving this into the curb at max speed and destroying it in 10 minutes." When I got it home I was looking at it thinking that I just have to open it up and charging it up to make sure it works. Certainly dont wanna give a broken Christmas present. ...and that was my first hit of Crack..! By the end of the weekend I had already gone back to LHS and bought upgrade battery and disassembled it, weighted the wheels, did a semi-droop with inboard shock mod. My girlfriend was getting on me about hacking up nephews present but she ended up buying me one for Christmas and I gave that one to nephew. LOL!!

So there we are.. and here I am.

Elastokinematic in the house as a paid member.
...that means "stretchy while moving" BTW.. "thumbsup"

Another newb

Names Darrell, located on Vancouver Island Canada. Just got rid of my 1:1 crawler and figured i would give the Rcs a try. Bought a few Redcats 1/8 for myself, 1 for the wife and a RS for our son. I have already learned its a CHEAP brand to get started.

One of my old 1:1

yet another noob

I guess this is the place for intros so here it goes! My name is Derrick and I’ve been lurking around various forums including this one to guide my way thru this hobby. Started out with a Traxxas 4-tec about 4 years ago. I thought nitro was the way to go but soon saw the light with my first brushless system. Granted, it wasn’t a name brand brushless, I was still impressed…. Impressed enough to sell my 4-tec and gave up nitro for good! As you can see from my signature, my collection has grown in the last few years. I started out building models as a child. I actually came in first place in a model building contest locally at the age of 10. I got into RC’s when I bought an RC for my brother just to play around with. Really, just an excuse to get MYSELF into the hobby. Haha. The hobby hasn’t gotten out of control just yet so the wifey don’t mind. Besides, I’ve got a man cave I’m building in the garage in which I can do what I please. "thumbsup"
Anyways, I’ve tried getting my friends into RC’s. A few followed my lead. Problem is, they aren’t into it like I am, our schedules conflict or their women have them on lock down and can’t come out to play. I’m hoping to find some folks to run/thrash with locally to avoid all that. Time to make new friends! I’ll be posting pics of my rigs soon. Keep up the great work and keep spreading the great wealth of knowledge here on this site. I too will be sharing a few of my mods I’ve come up with. It’s time to give back to those that have given me so much!

New

Without fail, everyday we get tons of newbies posting that they have arrived at our site. While this is great and we welcome you, we don't need a thread for every single person.

If you start a thread like that someone will most likely send you to this thread.

Give us the general info:
Who you are?
What kind of rig you have?
Where you live?

If you have a specific question, be sure to use the search feature, and look around. There is a good chance it's been asked before, if not bring it on!

Jason
