Attn: NEWBIES POST HERE<<<<<<

I am sean from st louis mo. Just got into crawling, so far i am having a blast. Hopefully i will be abel to build and buy more as the wife allows.

Ah yes, the thread where we post just for the heck of it. These are nice. Come in, say hello, run off and attempt to crash the site with an obnoxious amount of searches. It's really llike a bunch of newbs saying hello to each other.

Got back into RC about 5 months ago via a 1/8th nitro buggy. Saw the Tamiya RC01 threads somewhere else and suddenly found the world of RC crawling. Damn  Have I been missing out! Slow is definitely the way to go. 8 months and I'll start building a rig. Gives me plenty of time to decide what goodies I'll want. Going to start with an AX10 and then just spend $ from there.

Killer site you guys have here. I've been reading for a few weeks and decided it was well worth making a member donation. Great amount of info around here!

Just thought I'd check in to this thread and say howdy. Been into RC since 1989 and built my first rock crawler sometime in the late 90's (can't really remember exactly), a Clod with a Clodzilla kit. Have had a blast running that thing on the rocks and campgrounds around Montana. Into Heli's at this time and been spying out the AX10 on trips to the LHS recently so I hinted (or was it a dedicated campaign) enough that my wife got me one for my birthday (had to order it since she doesn't get to the shop without me - EVER!).

Anyway can't believe how long I've been out of touch with the 'what's happening now' crowd and what is going on with crawlers. Seems I have been missing out - but not any longer! I'm in the game now"thumbsup"

Oh yeah, great site. Thanks guys!

Greatings all. I hail from Michigan. I have been in RC's for about 20 years. My new Scorpion is my first truck RC. Previously I have been only Electric cars.

My collections consists of an RC-10 (Gold Chassis), Grasshopper (original) and a Boomerang (4wd).

I look forward to chatting with all of you in the future. Thank you for such a great forum.

Jim

Greetings

Heyas

I'm Gord from Canada, I currently own a Losi Desert Truck 1/10 brushless but am itching to crawl after messing with a friend's Wheelie King convert. I've never built a rig myself but will be ordering a Ax10 Kit when I wake up tomorrow. I have a question regarding this kit, will the stock brushed motor (Losi LM-32K 32,000 RPM) and ESC (Losi MSC12RB 12T Fwd/Rev) from my losi truck get this thing rolling so I can spend coinage on a better tx/rx and servo?

Thankx for reading
and if I should have posted this question elsewhere please let me know, I used to mod an ign board and know how frustrating misplaced posts are"thumbsup"

Hey Everyone-
I'm in Durango, CO-but it looks like I'll have to make the drive up to the Grand Junction and Denver Areas to get some great crawling in.
My rig is the ARTR AX 10. I would rather build it, but I like the body, bent links and the orange a lot better. Plus, I plan on new parts-probably even a tuber frame-in the near future.
See you on the rocks.

Give us the general info:
Who you are? Call me Firewire79.... I'd give you my real name, but we just met.
What kind of rig you have?.... AX10 ARTR with integy 55t lathe motor, 645mg servo on 7 cell batts.
Where you live?..... unfortunately in Kansas, for the Army, but Wisconsin is where I call home

I also have an E-Revo that I converted from 3.3 to Feiago 8xl, MM, and x2 2s2p 8k lipos. The ARTR will be up and running soon enough, just waiting on TX/RX solution.

Hi, I am Rui from Porto, Portugal. I am new to this side of RC!"thumbsup"
I'm trying to built my own crawler to become officialy one of you guys!8)8)8)

Noob here too...From North Carolina...have been wanting to get into hobby grade rc for as long as I can remember...it had always been out my reach financially though up until now.

I have several street rc cars that are of high end toy grade. I also have one New Bright Rock Crawler with the FJ body that I have modified to work better...looking to get my first real hobby grade rock crawler by the end of september.

Oops. I think I'm guilty of starting one of those "hello I'm new" threads. Sorry. I should have posted here.

What a newbie mistake. 8)

So anyway, hello. I am in the UK, and the only rig I currently have is my CR-01, with a Viper Eco 20 ESC, stock motor, very old Hitec servo, and even older Acoms Techniplus AP 227 Mk III radio.

i am new to the crawler scene, and have recently traded one of my nitro in on a RTR ax10. i know its not the best kit out there, but its a fun start.
i am undecided on what i want to do with it. i have the urge to take apart one of my son's blown out nissan pickup walmart trucks, and use that body to make my scale rig... or just go forward with making a buggy.
there are so many cool rigs here... its tough to think straight. :)
for now i got cut foams, servo mounted battery pack, and a novak 55T motor. (stock esc)
i think i like that Xtrail frame. will an older set of my maxx shocks work on that setup ?
thanks for the welcomes, and thanks for sharing your pics.
keep up the good work, and i will have some guides to follow.

oh and the bronco may be going up for sale or trade if this crawling thing keeps being as fun as it is so far....
ahahahahaaaa.
thanks againg guys/girls.

Hey there every one I'm a little new to the RC crawling world. I stumbled on a few videos on you tube of some ppl crawling. I thought it was the coolest thing I think I have ever seen."thumbsup"

Any ways, I wanted to know, how serious do these get? How much do they cost to build/buy/maintain? Are they pre-built? I have no idea when it comes to RC rock crawling. Now I do have an RC Car

Its an RC 10 T4. It was a kit that I have built my self but its probably nothing compared to these, or so it seems. Well If some one could shed some light, or give me a crash coarse on the CRAWLERS! So i can learn how to buy, and become a crawler! Thx again

Hi my name is Bruce I'm from Bradenton FL I have a ax10 its all stock I'm looking for ways to up grade I would like to build some kind of skid plate to protect the front stearing & find crawlers in my area

Well I guess I am a newb to the site, but deffinately not to the sport.

I do a lot of crawling around southern Indiana, and If I can find out when people go I would love to meet up with some people at FOTO, its like 5 miles form my house.
As for the R/C collection...I start with the less important shelf queens. A 4.6 MGT with all integy aluminum upgrades, a TC4 FT, from my drifting days, A TT01 from my street bashing days...we had a lil demo derby with pie pan bodys, it was fun while it lasted and a couple of Xmods.
Now for the crawlers, I have a wheely king, stretched and lowered the CG, and a 55t integy motor. Then theres my first scaler, its axial axles and tranny on one of the xtrail prototype chassis, with a 65t motor, sitting on leafs. Then there is my latest, which is still in the works, the chassis is done, but Im missing body parts. its a F350 tamiya kit, but I want the toyo body for it. if anyone has extra lights for the toyo please send them my way.

If any of you ever head to FOTO on a thursday or friday, let me know, those are my days off, and id be more than happy to join the party.

hey this is dan. im the only one in Sheridan Wyoming crawlin that i know about. so if you are e mail me. ive got a hustler super class clod and am working on a DMG Aluminiti. also a revo 3.3, xx4, b3, xxxcr, jrx2, and a bunch of rc10s do my crawlin in the bighorns.

I am in the Army and in Iraq at the moment, I will be home after the first of the year. I was told about this site from H3RESQ, I knew him from a 4x4 forum. I use to race the old Fox back in the late 80's. After running that into the ground I bought a RC-10 and raced that will I joined the military in 92. I got my 6 year old son a Super that is already built, he said I needed to get one so we can crawl together. I am looking at either the AX-10 kit from The Crawler Store with the AX10 Scorpion Direct Bolt on Tube Frame. The other one I am looking at is the Enroute Berg 2.2 Truck Kit with the TCS Crawlers Berg Chassis Kit. I am looking for something I can run around with my son and to also enter in local comps.

And yes I bought a Gold Star before I ever posted "thumbsup".
