Newb to crawlin'

Never thought I'd declare myself a newb, but here I are. I have been in rc since the late '80's, pan cars, dirt oval (buggies, trucks, and a clod) rc drag racing, planes , real drag bikes, truggies and tc's. (probably in that order). I now have a WK that I followed what was done on 2 of the conversion to crawler threads, did a little combining and creating and have a blast with it. I am looking forward to getting better at it and upgrading. That's enough for now.
Later,
Bob Rickey

Fellow Rockers

Hey all, just joined up the other day so its time to get out there and get to know some peeps. I live in Northern Virginia, Loudoun County. I've been RC'ing for a while now and just recently got into the crawling scene. I'm a big research geek when I get into something new so I'm pretty knowledgable already. I own a AX10 which I'm constantly trying out new set ups with and I've just started a clod build. Pictures to come as I get into the meat of things. I own 20+ trucks, cars, buggies and now crawlers and I'm always making or looking for deals, trades or whatever. Well peace out for now . .

Figured Id say hey since I was soaking up all the great info you guys posted. I just bought the Rockbuster For $70 shipped and plan to do my first build. Haven't totally decided on the chassis but I have the New Era Red Tube one in mind. Ive got about $200 to spend on a chassis so I figured it was a good start. I haven't been able to really find any opinions on it though :-(

New to Rc Crawler Boards

Hello everyone,

I'm new to this forum. Thought Id introduce myself. My name is Lonnie (30P), age 30, 2 girls 11 & 9. I'm into just about anything R/C. I've been bashing and building R/C creations for more than 15 years. I started racing nitros in 2007. I also build some off the wall projects and some on-the wall too. You may have seen a few projects already on other sites (Rocket Car001, 002, Rocket Launch Trailer, 18T trailer etc.). I'm joining this board because it seems to cover the local crawling scene here in Colorado pretty good.

Name's Ruben from the bay area (Cali) running an ax10, my first venture into the crawling world. post pics as soon as I figure it out.

Another noob

Hey all,
I have been lurking for about a year now and have finally decided to come out and say "hi".........that sounded kinda gay. Anyway.....

I'm Jeff from Northern Virginia, I get my screen name from being a lawnmower (blade) mechanic (mech). I am about to turn 27 and I am addicted to going slow.

I have a HPI WK that is mildly modded so far. All the typical stuff except I am purposely trying to take it slow and upgrade as I break stuff and not just over build a rig and never lean how to drive it. Rear is locked and strectched 1 inch. The front is still open and I havn't even swapped tires yet. I made a horrible looking servo holder for the steering so I can stretch the front soon, but I'll probably end up replacing it with something nicer. I figure you all have seen enough WK's so I didn't worry about pics.

I got into this going slow thing when I bought a 98' Cherokee and started taking it offroad. After tons of money and a couple flopps I decided I needed to find a hobbie that was safer and cheaper........RC is safer, but damn, it can be expensive.

I talk alot..........duh right?

Thanks for all the great info so far, and hopefully I can start to contribute to this community instead of just lurking around like a stalker. "thumbsup"

-Jeff

In recent months iv been watching more and more videos of rc crawling and have been really had an itch to build one. I cant afford it right now b/c all my money goes into my real truck. Im 22 and from Miami Florida and belong to a 4wheeldrive club called www.miami4x4.com

heres a pick of my truck, and what i would like the RC to look like one day.

i bought a 1/10th fullsize bronco body for when i am ready. But for now ill just be looking around getting ideas, and searching for how to build one.

New to crawling but not RC

Hello all,

I'm Nathan from the town of Kernersville, NC. I have been into Hobby grade RC since buying my Grasshopper from our LHS too many years ago. Since then I have had a Wild One, Hot Shot, Kyosho Ultima and Optima, Mauri Big Bear. Then I turned 16 and sold everything to help purchase a car. When I turned 22 I got the urge again and got a Losi XX and XX-T and a tamiya Ford Mondeo fwd touring car. Then I got tired of racing and sold all of that equipment and several years later got a E-Maxx just to bash with. Again I sold it. Now I have gotten addicted to the scale look and crawling. Will be purchasing a Hi Lux soon for scale, and an Ax-10 for some crawling. My wife told me I better not sell these. I have been gaining a lot of knowledge at this forum on crawling and scale building and look forward to contributing some info from my past knowledge and what I learn in the future. I just can't seem to shake this RC bug... It keeps coming back and knocking me on my a$$, with an empty wallet in my pocket too.

working progress

Names Rob
from pinconning MI been building and raceing R/C's for about ten years and now i'm ready for a change of pace and new direction. my first attempte at building a crawler was a clodbuster with home made 4 link suspension well that didn't fly so i sold it. now i'm ready to get serious and build something worth while and after a few days of scratching my head i think i'm going to use the WK kit and strech the wheel base to fit what i want it to look like cause for the 2.2 class it basicly states 2.2 wheel not scale right?:?:
so i'm going to use the ABC plastic body left from my clod and a set of moabs on RPM Slingshots. any one have any thoughts or ideas?

Hey crawlers,
My name is Phil from Québec City, Canada.
I have been lurking on RCC since July. Very good info."thumbsup"
Currently modding a WK.
I also own a modded E-Savage.

Though I would introduce myself. Name is Michael and I'm from Fresno, CA. I don't have a crawler YET, probably gonna get one after the first of the year or maybe for Christmas if I'm lucky (most likely a WK). But I wanted to join now and do some research and read up on stuff before I actually got one.
