Attn: NEWBIES POST HERE<<<<<<

Yo, Im Chris from Livingston, LA. Came over from another forum (Im a member at Ultimate RC, Traxxas, Radio Control Zone though my name differs). Been into RC for 5 or so years, my one and only ride is still my Traxxas E-Stampede. Im looking at getting into a new form of RC, so I came here. Those new 4WD Wheely Kings are especially holding my eye....set it up with a 12" wheelbase, 07 Silverado shell....mmmmm....

Nice to be here.

really new here

so i was on youtube looking at full size crawlers and came across rc crawlers. they are way cool and i am looking to get into it. way cheaper then dooing a full size truck. i am from WI and would like to talk to someone with lots of knowledge or would like to see one in person. i just picked up a 73 bronco body but its usless with out the rest of the rig. so if anyone knows of a tlt-1 rig for sale in WI that would rock. starting from scratch

I have arrived!

Hello.

That is all.

guess i should do this too.
Im Dave, i live in Victoria Australia.
been into RC for a few years, had a few nitros come and go. currently have an LST2 and my first nitro truck, the ol Smaxx. modded the max abit and havent really touched the LST2 (havent needed to).
even had a heli for a while as well.

bought a crawler chassis a couple of years ago from TTS (tinytuffstuff) and was planning to build up a clod crawler but never got around to it.
chassis has been dug out of the back of a the cupboard and the project is about to begin.
information from here is overwhelming (in a good way) and i have many ideas that i plan to implement into my crawler.
build will be over a couple of months (crawling is about going slow).
once i have some parts arrive, ill start a build thread.

Hey all. I may have posted a couple of times but I thought an official intro would be protocal savy.

I live in the foot hills of the Adirondack mountains, just outside of Saratoga Springs, NY.

My first rc was a Tamiya Subaru Brat, 1985 I believe. I had a Tamiya Falcon and a Tamiya VW Golf before I took a hiatus. I was lucky enough to trade someone a $120 bicycle helmet for a Bruiser and radio back in '93. I ran it a few times but it mostly sat on a shelf until 2002. Then the crawling bug hit. I had four linked it (cheaply) and made some other electronic mods.

I am hooked on scale/4wd rc vehicles and have the Bruiser frame chopped and am working on rebuilding it as a watertight, oil filled axles, 2.2 full crawler. I also procured a Mountaineer that I will mount with 1.9s and keep more stock looking.

My hi-lift is the only thing running right now. Fun vehicle, but definitely needs some mods to make it better.

Thanks for reading, I hope to have several projects documented once some parts ordering issues and some more money are taken care of.

Hello all. I am a big time newbie to crawling. I have been into rc for roughly 12 years racing electric offroad, and more nitro offroad recently. I teamed up with a racing friend who had a track in his back yard and started a club more or less. One of the members brought out his crawler, and was running it on the rocks that are at my friends house. These are the big river rocks, roughly 3 to 5 pounds each.

To be honest, before i had ever seen a crawler in person, i thought they were lame, and the idea of them was boring to me. But once the guy built up a mound with said river rock, and just climbed up with with easy, the bug had bitten me. So here i am...

I dont have a crawler yet, but i am working on buying parts now. I am pretty sure i am going TLT-1 based, but everything else chassis wise is up in the air. electronics i have taken care of.

yet another newb. Not newb to forums though. Belong to a few auto related ones. I know what the search button is for. :-P I've been out of r/c for a long time, but wanna get back in. I just bought a TLT-1 kit and will either buy/make custom chassis. Other than that I'm still searching the site gathering ideas and plans. late.

Why: an old wheeling buddy sent me a few videos of what you guys do. Looks fun. I have an 8 and 5 year old. The 8 year has a very engineering type brain and I think he would really dig helping me build something.

Hello. My name is Jim and I am addicted to RCs. I am only a noob to this site; I have been addicted to RCs and forums for some time now. After getting into ATVing, RCs took a backseat. Then came the rocks under my deck, and I feel the need to RC crawl again. Check out my homepage for proof of my addictions.

Hi....want to crawl!

Mike in San Antonio here. I've been wanting a crawler for a year or two.

Weather is grounding the electric planes so I got out the old RC10 gold pan but it's missing a bearing on the side of the trans. Rats.

Bought a used Stampede, liked it so much I bought a new one. I trail walk the Pedes and run em in the rocks. The XL5 new one with 2.2 Mashers did really well in the rocks today but needs the diff locked. I'll lock the diff on the beater Pede soon and try an Integy 55T.

I need a crawler, anybody have one for sale in or around San Antonio?

To start building one should I: 1 get a TLT or 2 get a 4x4 Wheely King or 3 wait for the new TLT? This vehicle needs to run the trails at walking speed (I'm old, fat and retired so it's a slow speed) and climb as well as a walking speed crawler can. Any and all advice is welcome.
