USRCCA adds another class!

Sounds like Losi made the truck,
USRCCA made rules based on this truck,
now other companies have to spec their trucks around the losi truck .

Another dumbass making assumptions on what you have no idea about.

I figured all of this was coming.

Just out of curiosity, why 2.4.7?

Because that is what the USRCCA and the rules committee members wanted to see in this class.

The only Mini that is Legal is the Losi Crawler..

Which makes sense being that it is the only mini currently on the market.

why is it 8.5" wheelbase max
the losi is that exactly, no room to mod it
with new chassis coming out this could be an issue

An 8.5" wheelbase is just right for this sized rig. We made sure that ALL currently marketed chassis would fit within these limits. Now that the rules are written any chassis that some designed after this point is well aware of the rules and can choose or choose not to build within them.

the new proline 1.9s might be 4.3, if that's the case will they be banned from this class?

I sent an hour on the phone with Proline discussing this issue, the tires they are currently producing as well as any others that may come out with will fit these guidlines.

And yes to answer part 2 of your question if a tire comes out and measures 4.3" it will be deemed illegal for this class.

TLT axles will fit in the class.

Thank you.

Ya, way to go rules guys! Very fair...what are you smoking! Sure as long as your driving a Losi these new rules are wonderful. Why not call this exactly what it is a "Losi Spec Class".

I spent many hours on the phone with a lot more companies besides Losi making sure that the projects they currently had on the drawing board would fit in this class. Sure it seems like this is a Losi only class, that would be because Losi is currently the only manufacture of a 1.9" competition crawler. I can guarantee it won't be that way for long though;)

Sounds to me like Losi has alot of influnce on the rules committee.

You have no idea what you are talking about. Losi was contacted several times while we were working on these rules. I contacted them on behalf of the rules committee to get measurements on certain bodies and products they had currently in development. This is the same thing I did with several other companies. Losi had no influence on any part of the rule making process.

But I am sure that after working many long hard hours coming up with this set of rules that the rules committee appreciates you thinking they were bought.

hmmm, well i love the idea of a 1.9 class, thats awesome! but, seems like you guys need to think this through a little more to get it right. the comment about the wheelbase issue and the losi being the only one available, sounds like you are not only getting ahead of the game, but yourselves also. dont get me wrong, its a great idea, just throttle back a little and see what else comes out first.

So we should sit back and see what all products come out and then write a set of rules based on including all products based on that? What if one manufacture builds a set of links to make it have a 15" wheelbase, do we have to include them?

The rules committee has been working hard for over a month to come up with these rules. Every single rule was researched and made sure we wanted it included.

Just to let you know also several manufactures and vendors have been holding off producing products for this class until they had a solid set of rules to build off of.

We made sure that all products currently on the market would fit with in the rules, it's up to the vendors if they want to build their future products into the class or not.

I have not played that game Monopoly in a long time.

Once again like I said Losi is the only company currently building a 1.9" competition rig, if you look at the numbers we have left a lot of room for rigs to be built around.

ALRIGHT! Another class! I cant wait, Thx USRCCA for making this happen! "thumbsup"

X2 "thumbsup""thumbsup" Now its official ..so bring on the comps 8)8)

And to all the whinners who don't have a losi :flipoff:

Yeah all of the rules committee members are total morons, that is why these rules passed with 100% yay votes and not a single nay vote.

I do believe this was one of the few, if not the ONLY ruleset that passed without any opposing votes.

From what I could gather in the flatiron thread they were 4.3 but might shrink out of the mold. I am glad to hear that you discussed this with them, and they are making the needed changes before production starts "thumbsup" I would hate to see the first tire from proline to fit this class, be deemed illegal for being 1mm to tall.

Good to know the rules this far in advance too, gives everyone plenty of time to build their 1.9 comp rigs for next year now.

Thanks for getting the rules out so quick, and replying to all the questions too.

Ohh and Jason, and Rules committee... FAWK YOU! :flipoff:

Now I have to buy a Losi MRC tonight, before heading out to Crawlapalooza... Thanks a lot assholes :flipoff:

For what it's worth, I'd like to thank the Rules committee for all the time spent to create these rules. I'm looking forward to competing :)
Thanks again,
Rich

Or you could build up an old TLT to spec like I am doing...

I was planning on getting a losi either way... I was going to wait a little longer, but the hell with it

Also my scale TLT running Eritex beadlocks and rc4wd rock crushers has a 8.350" track width. I would need to suck in either side 3/16" to be on the safe side of legal. This would require modding the axles, as the beadlocks suck the tires in very narrow already, 0.118" from being a flat faced rim. If the rules allowed a 8.5" track width, then it would be easier to use TLT axles.

• 2.4.2 - Vehicle track width is limited to a maximum of 8 inches. This is determined by measuring the bottom of the outer most edge of the front and rear tires while the vehicle is sitting on level ground.

great.. now i gotta sell a bunch of my crap to buy a losi mini... unless you would like to spill the beans on the other MFGrs designing 1.9 sized crawlers?

if not here.. PM if you like... do share?!?!

on a side note.. i actually wouldnt mind a spec stock class.. outta the box and rock it! all up to the driver!
