hi all! My name is truublue and thanks for visiting my post. After a long time lurking without an account, I thought it would be nice to finally bite the bullet and share some of the stuff I’ve been working on since getting into this hobby back in January.

I’m still learning how to use the forum so please excuse any errors. Just hoping the photos post haha.

Photo 1: taken on the trail about a month ago after I installed everything into the furitek Ti cage (yep, I punted on one of those!). Stock electronics minus a savox servo for steering. Meus panels and lights, Treal rims and an old set of TSL boggers. Built a set of VP shocks with anodized bits to match the colorway of the truck. I just love the way this rig sits. Also, his name is Wadsworth :)

Photo 2: have a bunch of parts for this thing now so I figured I’d build a second one. Currently working the VFD twin I picked up for it. Will also feature the newly released treal axles when I get around to putting it together.

Photo 3: since the stock cage was just sitting around, decided to do a rattle can paint job. Black on lame flake, came out way better than I was expecting! I put wadsworth back on this frame after painting as the Ti cage will get the vfd twin.

Wadsworth is now running 4ws. Will get some pics of the painted cage posted soon. Need to figure out a name for Wadsworth’s buddy that is to be assembled.

let’s call it what it really is, soon to be custom pinstripe or patina. Being a newer model I’d call it custom pinstriping… great color! 3 of my last 1:1’s have had that same color along with a few of my other models.
thanks for the kinds words! Agreed, it’ll never look perfect especially after it’s been out on the trail so I may as well embrace the imperfections. We can call it rustic ;)

I’ve been loving metallic flake shades lately, just love the way they interact with the light. Would love to see some shots of your work!

Thanks so much! Looking forward to contributing.

Not feeling too bad about not grabbing an optic kit so far, got my orange fix already as you can see haha
Which panels are you running? Meus has a beautiful set of aluminum panels in various colors including orange. They are on sale right now - $10 off. Still not cheap though!

Those are exactly the panels you see in the first picture!

I can vouch for the quality, thick material with the holes exactly where they should be to bolt right onto the stock frame and matching the shape of the plastic pieces almost too perfectly (explained below).

My only real gripe is that they needed to back off on the tolerances where the panels meet, it’s too tight. Getting the side panels to sit perfectly flush with the hood can be fiddly, especially with a battery attached, which can sometimes put outward pressure on the battery compartment, depending on how long your leads are (not a ton of room under the interior panel).

Also, the colors are great but just be aware it is bare metal underneath that will get exposed by scratches from crashes and tumbles on the rocks. It’s more noticeable than on the black plastic stock panels for example. I personally don’t mind the rash but just be warned. I’ll post some pics showing what it looks like on my buggy.

Otherwise, they were worth the price for me, and the included headlights are also pretty great once assembled. I prefer the Meus design and finish to others I’ve seen on the market, like htech.

Oh very cool. Yes, please post photos. I assumed they would get scratched, but that's part of it.

Finally getting around to RC stuff again, past couple weeks have been busy with end of year work stuff and holiday chaos. Changelog:
  • switched back to stock plastic frame
  • painted frame black, added tamiya lame flake for a crushed opal look that sparkles in the light (pictures don't do it justice)
  • 4ws installed, love the way this thing turns and crabs. getting a bit of binding though (can't smoothly actuate the steering by hand without power) so im probably gonna have to dissassemble and see what's up.
  • DSM offroad battery bed, big fan
  • cliff mcrawl metal rear innner fenders & rear number plate/fins, precise fit
  • htech bump stops, very cool and surprisingly functional!
  • fresh set of S8E shocks w/ TiN shafts, orange hardware & hard anodized dark gray to better match the meus panels (pretty close match!)
Here is the rig as it currently sits:

next up: pulling stock drive system, dropping in a spektrum firma 2in1 that I got on sale a couple weeks ago

thanks! having a blast following your h10 adventures too!
You're welcome! Thank you! Every time I see your orange panels I am tempted to buy a set of my own!

When I left my comment here the photos were kind of small and showed a border. Now when I came back to check your response, the photos are nice and large - much better!

hahaha, thanks for noticing the formatting change, I am slowly learning how to use forums, just a few (several) decades late

you can see from the pics some of the rock rash on the panels. I think it adds character, but just something to be aware of if you decide to get anodized panels.

Oh you're welcome. Good work! Better late than never.

I do see that. Thank you for showing that "rock rash".

Lookin' good! I have always found painting details an effective and cheap way to set a rig off.
The aluminum panels have a nice look to them. I was eyeing up a blue set awhile back but sunk the cash into other stuff.

thanks! your paint work has definitely inspired me to try and step a bit more out of my comfort zone with this stuff. Definitely recommend the alu panels as well, it just gives the rig more presence imo. And I find it wears more attractively than plastic.

What size are the boggers you are running? Rig looks great
thank you! these are the Pro Line 5.4" tall (1.9" rim).

I've seen lots of pictures of people running 2.2s with no issues as well, big tires work really well with the H10 and offset some of the issues caused by the relatively long stock wheelbase. Guys running 1.9s with smaller tires have reported some issues with high-centering on the belly, which some have solved by shortening the wb or just running massive tires. Only thing to be aware of when running the bigger tires is you will likely need a longer hub to ensure you still get full steering without rubbing against the lower links.

Awesome! I was just looking at a set for my optic. Mainly for that reason, I feel like it gets hung up everywhere. I think I'll be trying them out
