Step 1: remove the links from the skid plate

That not mirroring the tranny. That's just swapping it 180 which puts the motor on the back half of the truck which sacrifice front weight for worse climbing. Mirroring the tranny keeps the motor on the front half of the truck and eliminates torque twist. You have to turn the skid and tranny one 180 then take the tranny apart and put the motor and plate on the other side and swap the spur back to the front side.

Try 2:

step 4: remount the skid plate to the chassis
step 5: remount the links on the skid plate
step 6: take the tranny appart
step 7: remount the motor on the other side
step 8: have fun

is it correct now

Correct yes, but still not very helpful to someone that has never done it. :flipoff: Check out these threads to learn more about torque twist and mirroring trannys

Newbie tip: On the stock new Dingo kit, with the 3-link setup (plastic) if you experience a "rattle" while driving slow, problably the angle of the axle needs to be adjusted just a little.
i have spaced the upperlinks, front 3mm, rear 5mm with spacers that came on one of the part trees (the spacers are 7.5mm, simply cut 'm up)
Very simple mod, and no more "rattle". a couple of mm's changes the angle of the axle - trans enough to my liking.
No steering issues or such after this mod, i would even think the steering has improved. very little though...

Hope this helps someone :D

Hey guys not sure if anyone's interested but a trick I did was make fender wells out of the big metal coffee cans. Takes a bit of work but rock solid none the less.

LOL yeah thats what keeps ideas flowing  only thing i would suggest is run some sort of grinder along the edge or you get some nasty knicks.... but they are bulletproof as far as these trucks go and can get you that little bit of extra weight without too much higher COG

Also a recent one I just found out thanks to RCC user Hojo is you replace the stock rod ends on the shocks with longer ones and you can gain about an 8th of an inch of lift. doesnt sound like much but completely cured my tire rubbing

I love my Wraith shocks with 2.2s, but the center of gravity was too high. So I made some custom adjustable mounts out of some metal plates. Now the shocks are slightly angled and im only about 5mm above stock ride hight with about 13mm more travel. Best free mod I've done yet.

Here is another cheap and easy mod.

I didn't care for how the body moves on the body post so I took some small o-rings and stuck them over the post then put the body back on and put another o-ring over the post tight against the body then put the pin in. Makes the body nice and tight on the chassis and more scale rather than moving up and down an 1/8". A little bit of a pita when you have to change out the battery but I like it much better this way.

Another one is I used the plastic dividers from a tackle box to raise my front bumper on my honcho.

I hope you have a recent tetanus shot because I'm sure your eventually going to cut yourself on the coffee can fenders. Lol

You can also cut a small piece of fuel tubing and put it on the body post before putting the body on. You can cut it a little thicker and there is no need to place another O ring on top of the body prior to putting the pin in.
I have been doing this on my touring cars for the last 10 years and it works perfectly, body is nice and sturdy! "thumbsup"

Today I replace the diff block of the scx10 with this cheap HSP diff gear 02066 and this RIDE Gear Differential Putty 28022. It greatly improve the turning radius of a locked axle. At the same time won't lost much traction, like LSD in real world. I'm happy with the result.

Nice thread. I made some of the d rings for me dingo today worked great. The only thing i did diff was i put a small flat spot on the cotter pin to help the drill bit stay centered a little better worked great . Keep the tips comming

Simple cheap waterproofing on the honcho rtr

A dab of silicone where your wires come out of the esc and receiver box
Let dry and enjoy

It works very well on my truck and keeps dirty Jersey mud off the electronics of my truck
