H10 Origin

This is by far the best looking RC I've seen and it would be nice if they were a regular offering rather than a limited run. Unfortunately I'll probably never own one as there are other priorities at the moment and I won't pay the crazy markup they're likely to demand on the second hand market.

I can't imagine what could possibly take priority over an H10 Optic Origin.

I think it is worthy of its own build thread even if you build the Origin 100% like the manual. There won't be many builds at all on here so it would be nice to see.
We'll see. I just did a quick search and it looks like the only og Ripper build thread on the forum is Matt's. Sounds like there are several others waiting for their Origin so I presume at least one of us will cave and make a thread. 😆

A build thread would be awesome for sure. May be the closest some of us get to this kit, lol. Any word on when the Ripper 3 is expected to release? I might have funds in that distant future if I get organized and stay focused …

I picked up a few things for my Origin build.

CI 4.5" comp cut foams, soft for the front firm for the back.

G8 Proline Krawlers, 4.75" tall.

VP IFR original beadlock rings in grey with slim IFR inners in black. Some standard black hardware for the rings, I'll grab some scale hardware for the hubs soon. I'm pairing these with the stock wheels in bronze. The cage will be grey and the axles will be black so I'm trying to play off of those colors.

475 SLW hubs in black.

Spektrum 5 channel receiver.

HH SHV650LP servo and direct power servo protector.

I also just realized I need a BEC just for the Q series lights as they need 12 volts. I'll be running 4S so I need to step that down to 12v. I had a Castle 2.0 BEC on hand which can get up to 12v thankfully (not all go that high).

I'm still planning to use a HH Crawlmaster V2 motor and likely the Crawlmaster HV ESC but I'm still holding off in case a 2 in 1 comes out in time.

I was also just wondering what driveshafts they use because I dont think they called out or pictured what they are. It does look to be the Incision driveshafts though. I guess it would be a huge bummer to find the plastic driveshafts on the Origin. At the same time it kind of sucks they are branded Incision in such a large font. I would prefer it if they had no branding on them at all.

Would the driveshafts not be the same as the Optic? I just put a bunch of parts on my Optic including driveshafts. They are the vs410/ axial scx10 Shafts. They fit beautifully

Oh yeah I dont doubt they fit fine. I was just thinking out loud. Nothing wrong with the Incision shafts apart from the big Incision logos. Personally I would prefer they had no logo or if they had to include a logo do a run thats VP branded instead.

Is this petty, yes very much so lol

No doubt a simple etched VP logo would be way cooler

Last night on the livestream they said that a small number of them may be shipping out this week. They still wouldn't give a date for the second batch to be put up for sale.
