Official 2014 Battle Grounds Championships

All signed up, I'll decide later if I am going to run SUPERS and the Trail Class. I probally will."thumbsup" Thanks guys for putting on this event, can't wait to get out there.

Both hotels listed say that they have no rooms available during the dates of the event through their website. I'll have to call there and double check.

Did you call, find a room? I'm going to be down there next week, so I'm going to both A) try and find a good hotel (with space), and B) try to get some sort of rate locked in. Not knowing a total of people that will be coming, or needing a room might be the only problem there, but I'll see what I can do."thumbsup"

Question. On the test and tune day, Friday I believe, will the comp piles be off limits like in the past?

I haven't had any interest in crawling lately but since this is always my favorite nat level comp and it's always so well run I'm thinking I need to dust off the ol berg and make the trip8)

This year I will remember to NOT drink so much PBR with Rowdy the night before.

This is from last year. Test and tune piles in red and comp piles in green. I believe it will be the same format. There will of course be a restack. so, it may not look exactly like this. But you get the idea. "thumbsup"

OK. Thanks for the update.

If there isn't any courses laid out on them it I wouldn't call it prerunning. The locals comp there from time to time......moving a few rocks won't change it much.

As far as I am aware of I could be wrong its been 2 years but this location is only held for battle grounds so the locals do not use it for a comp location

The COC guys use it. Not a lot. But they do.

We use this spot about twice a year for local comps. We do a restack and new pile build right before Battle Grounds and no one runs on these piles between then and the qualifier. If the question is coming up about advantage or favorites, I can tell you that this is the least likely comp of this happening. Fresh lines and stacks that have not been run are as fair as you can get. No matter where a qualifier is held, there is a club or group that comps there locally. The best I can tell you is you will not be running the same courses year after year. We work very hard to change the lines and options each year to keep it fresh and fair. Test and tune is meant to set up your rig for the type of rocks and grip. The perimeter wall has PLENTY of lines and rock available to make this happen. And like Rowdy said, there will most likely be Trail courses set up throughout the comp piles.
