New Axial Rig?

It's a full-size truck body that's half-inch narrower than the new Nissan mini-truck, and pinched front and rear - so it's not an optical illusion at all.

It is very narrow for the length, but they did it for comp-ability (according to the advertising blurb).

The huge arched fenders also add to the odd look, but help for class 2 tire clearance.

Ahh, pinched! That makes sense!"thumbsup"

My aging eyes weren't deceiving me yet!:lmao:

Frickin badass IMO. Good release to celebrate 40 years.

Nice and congrats on axial for 40yrs but WTF, another square body.

i hope the body is available at some point in time it would be a shame not to keep it around for a while

Oh I would imagine it will be released. Horizon's primary focus is making money.

All of these limited edition, numbered trucks are a curious direction of focus for the hobby. I imagine there must be enough consumers out there for this stuff . They strike me as an oddity. I know there is supposed to be something special about them, but I just don't see it.

Anyway, it looks good and some nice upgrades. A perfect release for Pro Line by the Fire, I suppose.

Dont get me wrong, its a good lookin body, for a chevy... I kinda like the square body. N yeah its a 40th annv, with hard plastic accs, but $600?! Its a basecamp with basically the PL 78 style body. N for $600, i would think theyd find a way to lose the body pins n do a hidden clip design. A little pricey if u ask me, but wat ever. If they release the body seperate, may pick one up. Plus its 4.19 tires, why not go licensed tires if youre goin licensed body? The new toyos wouldve looked better thatn the hyrax, n i love my hyrax lol

We want something different but when that different thing comes out it’s still somehow frowned upon.

I will say I’m honestly surprised this isn’t on straight axles. With their bronco on straights I would’ve thought they’d make a Chevy on straights to go along side that. If it were I’d have one on the way right now. I do really like the body though, the best looking lexan K10 I’ve seen. I would definitely buy this over the Traxxas K10, proportions are better on this. Good job Axial, you’ve now achieved a comeback from the re release deadbolt

All good points

I’m assuming they are looking at it that “most” people want portals, and they offer a straight axle conversion for the minority, Which creates an upgrade path…

I assumed this just used the proline 78 k10 body, but looking closer they are different. I think I like the two piece proline body that’s already available better.

I have the Proline 78 K10 body. I have had the paintjob sitting about 90% complete for a couple of years now...(shaking my head). it is a nicely designed body, the only odd thing is it looks slightly squished to fit the 12.3" WB. But, as we have all seen, bodies are rarely perfect. Proportionally this looks exactly the same to me.

I think numbered, limited edition RC cars are silly. The inflated prices look like a cash grab. I simply can't find the value in this thing. If it were a fully tricked-out rig or contained something unique it would be at least interesting. This release is only half-baked. Happy 40th Proline! ....lol

Horizon has been great about the half baked cash grabs lately for sure. Did you see that gladiator release they had over the spring/summer?

I think the Early Bronco sells for $50 less than this truck. That's a no brainer to me.

Straight axles, 2 speed and dig. Also a full interior, roll cage, inner fenders plus the spare wheel & tire.

Your inconsistency is showing Axial.

You CAN in fact produce models with the features everyone wants. But you don't, and then charge more for the ones you're hyping up that don't include those features.

That all said, Horizon's customer service is still going to woo me over a Traxxas purchase anyday.

I'm impressed. Its better than I expected but I'm not really interested in buying it due to the cost and the fact that its a limited edition. I'd feel a little bad about smashing it. Hopefully they release that body though. I'm not a huge scale nerd so I'm willing to sacrifice some scale looks for performance.
