New Axial Rig?

So we’re calling a different colored body, recycled Nittos and different branded electronics a refresh? Lame. I really hope the review channels aren’t praising Axial for this.

I doubt they are, I wouldn’t call it a refresh.. more like a re-release..
The new Phoenix on straight axles takes the win today boys. Much more enticing, especially now that Josh has openly admitted to the excessive overdrive haha

While I’m generally for any new entry level truck that helps get people into the hobby, this release is trash.

The rubbery plastic links, plastic pivot balls, and craptastic shocks should have stayed in 2017. You get all this for (checks notes) $40 more than the outgoing SCXII Deadbolt they had to put on sale several times over the year in order to actually get people to buy them!

In a world where the SCXIII Basecamp, Enduro, and TRX4 Sport are not much more, there is zero point to keeping the SCXII alive.

At least we now know what will end up as Axial’s major Black Friday sale item this year.

Yes not cool!!

They must have found a couple old shipping containers they forgot about that was full of these damn things and threw some paint on the bodies :lmao:

"should have stayed in 2017":lmao: Yep!

What a joke. Same old plastic crap. :lmao:

Agree!:ror:

I think you nailed that one!:lmao:

Definitely a noob rig this one. Very poor value with all those craptastic parts. Parts not even worthy of the spare-parts bin at this point. Calling it a refresh seems a stretch. As the common sentiment here reads, it really is a surprise Axial is not pushing the 10.3 further. Lame promo videos for significantly dated rigs seems lowly.

Agreed the VP with F10's is a much more enticing release, and certainly better value.

Agreed. Axial needs to stop pushing the Plastic Linkage in RTR's. Even Companies like RedCat and Exceed are pushing metal linkage in their Rigs.

I see Chevy and K-10 in the hashtags. We’ll see![emoji3]

I've been meaning to look at the hashtags. Should be interesting. Maybe it'll be like the K5 they had.

if it's a collab with those hashtags, i'm thinking it's got to be a 10.3 with their new K10 body:

I doubt they would put that body on an Axial branded rig. Axial's licensed bodies are usually much nicer detailed.

They've got a tough act to follow with Traxxas recently released K10. Hopefully they go for a mid to late 80s square body instead of a 70s.

I agree!"thumbsup"

something just looks way off on that body maybe its the angle but it looks funny

I think it looks too narrow for how long it is. It may be an optical-delusion, but that's what my eyes are seeing!

It's a full-size truck body that's half-inch narrower than the new Nissan mini-truck, and pinched front and rear - so it's not an optical illusion at all.

It is very narrow for the length, but they did it for comp-ability (according to the advertising blurb).

The huge arched fenders also add to the odd look, but help for class 2 tire clearance.
