Official 2014 Battle Grounds Championships

I think as long as there is enough to test and play around on, opening up the comp piles is not needed. I am of the school of thought that whatever creates to least amount of work for the guys running the comp the better. They will have their hands full as it is."thumbsup"

How are you guys doing on judges? Are you going to try running the team format for 2.2Pro?

John

I would think Trail class would be set up on most of the comp piles on test and tune day limiting their access anyway, could be wrong and it doesnt matter to me either way it's going to be a good time. "thumbsup"

It is pre-running ONLY if the course/gates are set up...Otherwise its practicing. Its rediculous to say someone is pre-running without them knowing where the course will be. Already psyched about next coming weekend.

What time is everyone getting in town? I am driving out with Addicted. We will be leaving around 1 PM on Thurs. Looking at the map it will take us about 8 hours to get there. We are staying at the fairborn inn.

Yep, but some people in the past have been funny about driving on the piles any time but during the courses, which is why we closed them for test day in the previous years.

At the moment it is looking like perfect weather, in the mid 60s and partly cloudy forecast."thumbsup"

We have an 8 hour drive too but we usually leave early in the am so we can check the comp site out for a bit that evening.

It's ultimately up to you guys putting on the comp, if anyone whines put them in a porta potty and flip it over on it's door.

Fyi

Just letting you guys know......yes this is a public park and you are welcome there anytime the park is officially open....BUT....the front gate will not be open until Friday morning when we arrive to start setting things up.

This being said, you can still get to the comp site and practice, check it out, whatever, you will just have to walk from the parking lot at the entrance of the park back to the rocks. Not a big deal, just didn't want people showing up Thursday thinking they can drive back to the comp site."thumbsup"

BTW.......LET'S GET READY TO BATTTTTTTTTTTTTTLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!

:twisted::twisted:

That's good question. Currently we only have the COC members as judges. It would be great if we could get some volunteers to help with judging so we can run all five courses at the same time. If not we'll run three courses in the morning and two after lunch, then the final.

We are not opposed to the team format, and might be willing to try it, but we feel the judging will be more consistant doing it with dedicated judges.

I totally understand, this will be the first event ever that I am not judging at. I am really looking forward to just driving and hanging out. Thanks guys for stepping up and putting this on.

the surprise is every driver that registered before the cutoff is now immortalized. The back of the shirts will include all of the classes listed with all of the drivers rcc aliases printed in each class they registered for. We decided to try something different with the shirts so it wasn't just another crawler shirt....

Now that is freaking cool "thumbsup"

Wish I could be there, but I was given the privilege to shoot a wedding that weekend and I can't pass it up.

I went to Oakes so many times in my main comp years to get in some practice. It's the natural competitive spirit of people to do that. Anyone that complains about that is just looking for an excuse.

Yupp, leave your excuses at home and drive your dang truck. Doesn't matter one bit till there's markers and a clock ticking in your head.

I'm getting fired up now. Small adjustments to the pro and I'll be as ready as possible. Looking forward to having so many EPA drivers at this event.
