New Toyota FJ body scaler

I was reading an article about HPi and Venture, the company was saying that they needed time to get the spare parts inventory built up before releasing the FJ, hinting that everything would be ready by the "end of the year", meaning to me, just in time for holiday shopping.

Whenever it hits the market, I'll get one. I can wait a bit more, I'm in no rush to spend money.

Unbelievable. HPI could have sold a ton of those. I guess I will get the SCX10-2 or maybe an Ascender. Oh well.
Not to hate on HPI, but they have severely mishandled the Venture brand already which seems pretty typical of HPI in recent years. They couldn't manage a 2 year old during a nap. Not a good start at all to a new brand. And I think most of us will have forgotten about the Venture before it's released. MST already stole some of their thunder with their new CFX

Man this is horrible. I have been a big fan of hpi. Back when rc drifting was really booming, they helped pave they way to usa customers and really market the sport here.
Also i have always owned toyotas and really looked forward to an rtr fj from a brand i am familiar with.

On the bright side... the rtr might have been just as much as an scx10 that has way more aftermarket support.

Yeah, it sucks but i really dont see hpi lasting much longer.

A comment on a recent update to their Facebook cover photo indicates that some sort of announcement this week...

The language seems very positive, dare I get my hopes up???

I like HPI, I'd like to support them as they climb out of their troubles, I just don't know if I can stand to have my hopes dashed again.

Fingers crossed!

I was chatting with the local hobby shop owner, he's personally big into the scale scene, just doesn't sell much of it at his shop. His clientele only wants nitro cars. He tells me that HPI has been bought and sold twice since the ripsaw takeover.

I really want to see the truck and parts on shelves this summer because there is still an opportunity for this to be a big deal.

The truck has the features people want, SCX10II is old news now, people are pissed at Axial for not allowing coupons, HPI still has some name recognition to casual hobbyist, and there doesn't appear to be much coming in terms of new releases to compete. A firm release date and price would go a long way to getting the hype train rolling again.

The Savage Flux XL should be hitting stores any day now and they have been showing that off for 3 years. I hope this is a signal that things are moving in the right direction at HPI.

Looking forward to the release. Just in time for summer! Always been a fan of the FJ body.

Yes, agree with SVT293 and all this time waiting for it to be released should have allowed them time to fine tune it and up the quality even more.
