New Toyota FJ body scaler

Have any of the big retailers set an availability date yet? Supposedly there's a cargo ship with a few containers of these rigs headed our way.

I’ve been watching the Chinese retailers to see if they get them in earlier. Rcmart had both colors on the front page on back order until this past Wednesday, then it showed out of stock & off the front page. I’m guessing they got their first allotment & sold through them? I find that weird as I’ve seen no reports of people (discounting the shill & review people) having one or it being on the way.

Saw that Tower is now showing early Nov for a possible ship date, but ALL of the spare parts aren't available until Jan 2018.

Looking back at this thread, this truck was $369 and coupons could be used to bring it down to $325 about 6 months ago.

Today, it is a $399 truck and coupons are no longer allowed by the manufacturer.

I really want this truck to succeed but HPI just seems to be intent on making it less and less appealing. The dogbones and plastic links can be overlooked on a RTR that could have been less than $350. People are going to expect more based on what you can get from Traxxas, Axial, and Vaterra for right around $400.

Think you'll find your prices way out. In the U.K. the hpi is £360 and the traxxas is £530. For the money the fj is the best on the market. It didnt but if hpi never had problems years ago they would have wiped the floor with the rubbish that is the scx10. I own the wraith, scx10, fj, and a trx4 and for the money the fj is far far the best. Now you can all have your hissy fits.

Prices vary around the world, to be sure...

HPI has a better distro setup in Europe than most.

Hence the price difference stateside vs. UK.

Your quote shows USD equivalent of $110 more for the Traxxas...

Here it's $50, for the Land Rover - or only $20 for the unmitigated atrocity that is the "Tactical".

The prices for all the trucks are right on RPP or Amain and at least 1 version of all is within $20 of the Venture. You can look it up yourself.

Agreed. I had the Venture in my cart at Amain and I was ready to click buy last week. Before i did I wanted to take a closer look at few things so I went to HPI's website, downloaded the manual at studied the exploded views. I liked the shocks and transfer case but other than that I wasn't impressed. The chassis was pretty basic and the plastic links, dog bones, clamp style link mounts and basic radio were all cons for me. I still wanted a new truck and while I'm not a big traxxas fan the TRX4 has several cool features imo. Plus factory and aftermarket support is already going strong. I spent a few more dollars and bought the Traxxas.
