here are my U bolts, blocks and top plates to mount my GCM metal head axles to my leaf's....U bolts are 1/8" rod threaded with 3mm, the blocks are 3/16" think alum plate to match thickness of my leaf springs and the plates are made from 1/16" alum from a street sign that was giving to me because of the stiffness of the alum....
now that i have my new PC up and running with photo edit software i'm ready to post updates on my build "thumbsup" .........bob
holy shit those axles are sick!! are they wider than the stock axials? look it in the pic. great so far....im just not sure on the stretched wheelwells??!! makes the cab look so small. im sure it will all blend together once the flares are there and its all one color. great inspiration!! love these total home build! "thumbsup"

Im very disappointed you didn't fab your own axles with the saw, drill press, and dremal ;-). Your build is very cool. you always have the best ideas for fabbing stuff up. Thanks for the thread and the many pics of your macgyver skills.
Hey bob I have only one word to describe your build: SPECTACULAR!!!!"thumbsup"
I really love the way you make all your parts, this is the point here and what give more pleasure I think, just take a piece of metal and transform it in a piece of art!!!8)
Thanks for all the illustrative pictures, I appreciate it too much because it helps me to understood what my poor English can’t and thanks too to share what your MacGyver hands can do, it’s very kind of you and give me and all the guys here a lot of inspiration to do something similar, or maybe a little.
Never too late, I’m subscribed, of course, and keeps your work going Mac, oh sorry, bob!!!
well i have my truck under it's own power now, burnt up my 69t spur gear by not having it meshed tight with pinion gear  ....had to ditch my home made tranny and make a whole new frame mounting plate for an axial tranny so i can run in a G6 GTG this saturday....i have a 87t spur with a 18t pinion in it now, but have a 84t spur i can try with a 25t pinion for wheel speed if i need it :lmao: ....i still have my transfer case running the output shafts to the drive shafts 1.2 time faster then the input shaft from tranny....only thing i need to get done this week before saturday is front bumper with winch fairlead and a radiator support to mount front of the fenders/grill to the frame.........bob
