#MEGARAMRUNNER - Diesel Sellerz 6-door mega cab 2012 Ram 3500 - tow rig

Dammit! I knew someone would beat me to the punch on the mega RR! I've been gathering parts and drawings and ideas for months now. The only difference is that mine was going to be 1/6 scale based off of some "parts" I have. I still may move forward, but for now, I'll follow this. Great craftsmanship and detail all around. Thanks for sharing. This truly is one of the greatest trucks of our time. I re-run episodes while i cruise the forum.

Keep up the great work. This thing is going to be awesome! FOLLOWING!8)

Thanks guys!

Picked up a new pinion and spur this evening that completely negates the 2:1 reduction in the transfer case. Going from a 56/13 (4.31) the tranny came with, to 48/22 (2.18 )

Working on the body from my SCX10-2 kit that I sectioned into a 2-door for my 2.2 trail comp truck, so I haven't got much done this past week on this truck.

Gotta finalize the plans for suspension and electronics, then I should be able to cut the frame rails out, and get it to a roller 8)

Also still have to finalize my strategy in making the final bed, and mirror the driver's side fender over in clay.

A long way to go still

-Derek

Been working on my comp trucks the past 2 weeks, so the #MEGARAMRUNNER has been getting neglected. Snagged a second set of Proline Yeti wheels, that with some machining on my lathe I can run backwards, and then make some bolt on hubcaps to mimick the military wheels on the 1:1

Turned the hubs down a little to fit in the front side of the wheels. Only put 3 screws in for mocking up.

Next step is discs to mount "hubcaps" to

-Derek

I made the first adapter plate for the wheels, now I can use it as a pattern for making the rest.

I'll use M3 set screws threaded into the plate, and and nylon locking nuts to hold the hubcaps on.

Painted the cap, but still have the outer ring of bolt holes to drill for M2 scale hex bolts I have yet to purchase

I have the front suspension all figured out, but now I have to finalize plans for rear cross members and spring mounts before cutting out the frame rails.

-Derek

Poster board mock-up of the rear upper spring bracket, and other than battery and electronics trays, I think I have everything laid out, and can get the rails cut out now.

Frame rails cut, drilled, and sandblasted. Link/shock mounts on the front axle made. Then made front links (need sleeved still), and threw it together.

I'm trying to, I want it done by then too, I'm gonna push to make it happen. I think the bed might end up being the hold up, but I'll work to finish this beast up and have it at Crawlapalooza. Even if I have to steal the motor and esc from my SCX10-2

A lot done for the rear suspension, upper and lower spring brackets, and lower link mounts, which also mount the lower spring brackets, made.

With 4 springs, it doesn't even bottom out with the full weight of my 1.9 comp truck on it.

Still have to make the upper link mount, and accompanying links to keep the rear axle centered.
