I really wish I could get a .22 that shoots over 500fps. Mine is only a .177 and and because of a low velocity killing crows is really hard unless you hit them perfectly in the head, it can take down magpies no problem though. Pellets up here are around $17 for 1250. If I were you I would look at some of the gamo guns because I have been very happy with mine and they are very good on price. One thing to remember is to pick up a scope stop.pastrana#199 - I would consider an air rifle a *real* gun. I'm seriously considering getting back into them and I have 20+ firearms. Even .22's are expensive to shoot these days so it's looking more and more inviting.
