Gun and knife picture thread!

It's a Ruger Hawkeye 256 Winchester breach block "thumbsup" it's a rare and hard to find gun. I might have been wrong on the amount that were made. I think it's around the 2000 produced but I'm not too sure to be honest. I can't find the last one to be made or the number of the gun :/. This one needs a new grip, the corner was broken when I received it from my father .

I currently don't have ammo for this gun. The last time it was shot was about 16 years ago

Here's a pic of the ammo

Normally a 60grain but they make a 75 for it too.

Winchester stills offers this round. I use to "fire form" 22 K Hornet for varmint hunting. Reloading is a fun hobby. Metallurgy (melting mixtures of lead, tin, and antimony at specific percentages to create a projectile that does not fowl you barrel, and is accurate is quite a challenge. Shot long range comps this way for many years. Info on your 256 here: 256 Winchester Magnum "thumbsup"

I appreciate it sir. Maybe I'll pick up a few boxes of ammo for it and see how she shoots. Over the weekend I decided to treat myself to a new family member for my birthday.:) :) Remington 870 12ga.

I commissioned a knife earlier in the year from Stuart Mitchell a UK knife smith based in Sheffield, England.
Really really happy with his design.
It's a Stu Mitchell #456 made from RWL34 steel with a flat grind and secondary bevel.
The bolsters are nickel silver with Desert Ironwood scales

Already had a Stu Mitchell for over a year and the knife has been beat on used and abused and still cleans up like new, so that's why i decided to go with that maker.
The Orange one is flat grind SF77 steel.

I also use a Zackerty Serrata which is investment cast 440c, gives a nice toothy cut

Of course the obligatory Mora

And for my EDC i use a full sized Doug Ritter RSK MKI version of the Benchmade Griptillian but with the really cheap echoy stock scales replaced.
Bought a set of really nice Carbon Micarta Cuscadi scales and was very very happy with them.

After reading many rave reviews on Wilkins scales i thought i'd give those a try

Oddly enough they were more expensive than the Cuscadi scales but terrible to use any length of time, so i many use the black Ritter.

A few more months of waiting for approval, and I'll be bringing this home.

I had to have a lawyer draw up a trust, then I had to buy the suppressor, and the dealer holds onto it. You have to fill out an ATF form 4 and pay $200. In about 6 months you get the paperwork back and can then go pick it up from the dealer.

To cutdown my rifle barrel to 8" it's a similar process, fill out an ATF form 1, send in with $200, wait 6 months then when I get the paperwork back I can go have it chopped down.

As far as possession my wife and I can both take them and use them under our control. Anyone with us can then use them as well, they just cannot take them anywhere without us being there.

I don't have my hands on it yet, but a buddy who owns a gun shop told me about a sweet deal he could get on a few of these, so I gave him the green light to get one for me. I should have it in 10 days.

I've rented one about a dozen times at a local range, I'm not crazy about the internal hammer but the overall frame of the gun fits my hands perfectly and it just seems to be a nicely built weapon.

Its got a PRP trigger in it (the competition one) and a tungsten guide rod. Freaking love this thing already, picked it up used for $450 not bad considering we arent supposed to have them here. You can get them but they go for about $800 out the door new, not happening.

I added the grip tape, I just got some skate tape and cut it out and then hit it with some OD paint. I really wanted one of the OD framed versions but since we cant get XDms and the ODs are even harder to find I settled on this deal when I saw it.
