Gun and knife picture thread!

Took it with me to my normal weekly session and shot it after doing my normal drills with my two 9's I use for SD. Ran a box of Browning 185 through it and will not be buying that ammo again. I have no idea why they make there .380 and .45ACP FMJ's flat nose but their 9mm round. I've had problems with their .380 stuff before and didn't look in the box of .45 to see what it was before I bought it.

Anyhow, first shot resulted in a failure to feed the second round right off the bat. Second mag another FTFeed on the 3rd shot. No problems after that. I don't know if it was the ammo or just it being a new gun. I've read where 1911's specifically can take a couple hundred rounds to "break in". I have no idea if that's true. What I do know is that I will be running only round nose in the future being that this is strictly a range gun for me.

The trigger is on the heavy side for a SA. If I had to guess I'd say 6-7lbs. However it has a pretty clean break and very little take up. Hoping that the trigger may get a "little" better with time.

Overall I'm happy. It shot quite well.

Last group of the day at 10yds....

And today a box came in with this little beauty, a kershaw leek in carbon fiber

While picking up some .223 ammo today at Bass Pro I saw this Kershaw Shield on sale from $55 to $19.99 so I figured WHY NOT. :)

Seems like a decent little piece...

I bought the Vortex Spitfire 1X Prism optic for my M&P15-22. I had a red dot on it, but they don't look like dots to my eyes. I have an astigmatism. The prism looks like it should. I used it today for the first time. I'm very happy with it. I do wish I would have gotten the 3X, but this was on sale for $150. The 3X is still $300.

Vortex makes decent stuff for the money, nice score.
My first Vortex. I like it. And it's on a 22 so what can go wrong? :lmao: Apparently Vortex has an awesome warranty which is always nice.

I have a Primary Arms 2.5X prism on my AR-15. That's nice as well.

I don't use my rifles often enough to warrant an expensive optic. And I'm not spiking them off of the ground like the YouTubers so I don't need a $500 optic. :lmao:

How often they're used is probably not factored into the equation for a lot of us (not for me anyway), but I'm glad there are lower priced options out there for folks that aren't wally world tasco shit.

I've wanted one of these since they came out. But I've heard mixed reviews, so I never took the plunge. Buddy of mine had it, one box through it, let me test drive it over the weekend at the new indoor range. I got along with it immediately, and burned through 75rds a lot faster than I'd have thought.

Glock 43 with Ameriglo front and locally made FightKraft kydex rig. Wore it the rest of the day, and it's such a great warm weather combo, it just disappears. I'm smitten with it!

Built this a few years ago for our CA ground squirrel problem. Crossman 2240 and had the mil spec AR stock adapter custom made from one I had lying around. I sent it off to get it tuned by Mac1 and is good for 1/4" at 25yd even if you pull a shot. For the backyard it is very very fun between bang bang outings.

I do some airgun stuff, used to be more into it. Still have a Marauder carbine PCP, a Benjamin Trail NP break barrel, and a Beeman P17 pistol.

Finished up the G43. Talon grips, TTI +1 base pad, undercut trigger guard, and some internal polishing and massaging to get a 6lbs smooth trigger pull.

I have a Glock 43. I hate it. I much prefer the Shield. The trigger on both are not great, but the 43 feels like there's nothing to hold onto.

You did a great job on the undercutting.

Yep, same as I always tell everybody when looking at carry guns, we're all different. Doesn't matter what I like or carry, what matters is you get what fits you. I got the 43 from a buddy that bought it, and it wasn't for him. I borrowed it last weekend, and hit it off immediately with the baby Glock. BUT, I shoot most Glocks pretty well.

Thanks, lots of time in that part doing it by hand and checking how it feels till you get it right.

Nice work! Sounds about right, for a comfortable handling/shooting Glock.
I'm on my 2nd G26. Gen 4 in OD Green, this time.. (it matches my knife collection)(2nd photo shows better coloring).. lol..

Started with a polished Gen3 trigger setup. Then switched that for a flat faced trigger.
I shot anywhere from 7-45yrds.. my closer targets are railroad plates and my furthest target is a 12" x 15" steel plate.. (proper chest shots)..
I love my Glock!!
