Dani's Chaotic SuperSpecial Pro Berg

I'd like to see a short clip of how you're making those discs work for you...

x 2 "thumbsup" That would be great, Jeremy.

I have some more pix doing some chassis works...

Manu and I had the idea to make some chassis doublers, cause we notice that the shock screws are bending very fast if they are spaced out more than 3 mm; with the chassis doubler we hope to solve this problem and reinforce the chassis in front and rear a little bit.

So I made some doublers for the Super Special chassis, the front ones are made of 2 mm CF and the rears are 1.5 mm CF.

ready to mount:

and then the all new Alu spacer with the chassis:

seems to fit... 8)

Thats awsome! I really like the way you cut your cf. I never though about doing it that way"thumbsup"

Haha...well, I dont have any tires to shave. But, I basically hold the dremmel like a pencil and hold the tire in my other hand. Using those is the most controlled method for me to shave tires. I can post a pic if you guys would like.

Sure"thumbsup"

Here's a few shots of how I would use that sanding disc. Obviously, I'd hold the tire in my other hand. You can see that it has pretty good results. The discs will last for a long while too (the same disc did all 4 tires and shows zero signs of wear).

Dani, sorry for the thread hijack.

See that helps a lot...the pics on the product pages don't show that you could use it like that. Seemed like if you stood it up...the metal portion of the EZ lock would be eating up the tire. Definitely an interesting option.

I use a angle grinder with a 4 1/2" 80 grit flapper disc to shave my sidewalls and it works realy well.

Those chassis doublers and chassis spacers look great.

It's a fast and rather simply way to do small work on CF and Delrin and it finally comes out not that bad.

Dani, sorry for the thread hijack.

No matter, Jeremy, thanks for showing up this new Dremel tool "thumbsup"

Those chassis doublers and chassis spacers look great.

Thanks Ted. I'm pretty sure that this couple of gramms additional weight are well invested and reinforce the chassis at the right point.

Great idea on the doublers dani.
I have never had a problem bending my screws yet, but my delrin version probably isnt as rigid as yours.

Thanks Marc. I had this problem with the Special and the Switch from time to time; never a big issue, but a bit bended. So I decided to go a safer way in Super ;-)

Can't await to drive this thing!

I have some more pix from yesterdays chassis and wheels assembling:

I like the bullet proofen chassis...

the skid fits and covers the chassis a bit...

and then the big question on the scale; target was 100 gramms...

7542060252_9b6274f802_o.jpg

97.3 gramms / 3.43 oz

and as a little roller with all the wheels incl. 4 x VP 850 hubs and all wheel hardware...

next coming up is some work on the ESC/BEC/Servos...

Hello Dani!

That´s great! I like the clean and cool carbon look - and the weight of this stuff - incredible! "thumbsup"

I really dig the chaotic skids. That was a damn clever idea!

Thanks James; and this skid idea is 100% Chaotic; no copy for sure :lmao:

had not to much time today, but some electronic work has started to be done:

First of all I decided to try it with 2 CC Sidewinder V2. Not stock, a little bit stripped and compressed. Thinking all the time to the target weight:

and the same game with the 2 BEC's, which will be mounted directly to the servos later on...

and the scale says "yess!!" 8)

starting to find a good place for everything; wanna hold the chassis "electro-SMOG-free", still now it's really Chaotic:

it seems that Erik's electronic plate is much to big; I thought in Texas everything is a bit bigger

found a place for the LiPo, wanna fix the LiPo with rubber bands like I'm doing in 2.2, so I have to work on a nice and light tray.

it grows up...

It was a few Texan's that came up with a lot of the ideas being used on this car. :flipoff:

7.4" is a smaller tire, add in the fact that I built them using enough Texan skill to not need 40 series sidewalls, and you've got a light tire.

I would sort out the caster and tie rod setup first before committing to placing the battery there, it may contact the tie rod and limit the steering throw.

You did great work as always, Shelby "thumbsup" That was in good fun, guess you know that, man ;-) No Texans, no foams, we all would know that...
