it's time for some updates, guys.
Some of you knew my old Super with the Alu wheels; cause the Alu has bent from time to time, I decided month ago, to make some CF parts insted of Alu.
So the Super was sold (with the alu wheels) and the CF parts were still there. And I had a set of 4 Super Sedonas on heavy Blast rims. Ryan from East Coast RC makes me two sets of great wheels, one with Rovers, one with Khaos, so I decided to make some CF rings and use the CF parts from my old Super to do a third, ultra lightweight set of wheels.
Thought and done, got some parts yesterday:
Alu Spacers, my 7 gramm Skid and some CF inner rings and some Delrin Spacers.
First I've done was one of the wheels:
the Design was the same as my old Alu wheels, designed by Highfly from Germany, but with only 6 (former 12) screws and for using VP hubs.
OD is 115 mm so exactly what a Trencher sidewall need to fit.
I used Alu hardware, spacers are made of Delrin/POM, outside CF is 2.5 mm in Top Quality, inner rings are 1.5 mm CF.
and that's the weight then:
39.5 gramms / 1.27 oz without Hub but with all hardware 8)"thumbsup"
So I was full of expectation what a complet wheel would be on the scale...
But first I had to shave the heavy Super Sedonas; they are 7.4" tall:
and sip:
what a mess! But I like this kind of work, if I can see all the gramms sputtering away ;-)
and the scale shows me, that the work has been done not so bad:
195.9 gramms / 6.3 oz - no Texas tires anymore, Shelby ;-)
I think I have to make a diet with Eriks amazing wheels, if they arriving Switzerland :lmao:
stay tuned, it will be continued...
