OK, time to say HELLO!. OLD, Retired, former resident of the USA (and veteran), moved to the "great white north", with way too much spare time. I decided I needed a hobby (that required "2" hands), so I bought my first (of probably many) crawler last week. the first thing I learned is they have a voracious appetite for MONEY. I've been trying to feed it as best I can. I figure if I cut out the unnecessary spending (food, clothing rent, etc) I should have this thing crawling in no time. I'm also getting pretty good at making palatable meals from cat food. I started a build thread, but I can't post pics, so you'll just have to use your imagination. so far, I've cut myself once, burned myself twice, and I have little tire tracks all over my furniture,I NEVER imagined this was going to be this much fun. Oh well, onward and upward. Anyways, CHEERS everyone, happy crawlin'.

I got a good laugh out of your post...especially about the cat food...I'm all over that...my dogs are hungry :) , I'm also old and hard headed, have completely taken over one corner of the garage...and the wife makes me sleep out there. And I can't think of anything else....enjoy your crawling experience and if you are ever in the SF bay area, pop me a PM and we can trade sea stories and a good crawl. "thumbsup"

newbie

jayson from rain forest part of alaska. i got a scx10 honcho rt. i just break my esc. i waterproof it using a plasti dip but it get corroded. and the water sip in it. i should have use a wd40 first before plasti dip. is it the good idea? and now i am going to buy a new esc. can i use a tekin hd? please any suggestion. i trust tekin they say it has power and torque on the crawler. and what is the difference of the 35t,45t,55t all hd motors. thank you guys. i appreciate it.

Hello my name is Jeff. I Have been in RC vehicle's since i was 8. Got my first hobby grade at 10. A Tamiya TL01 buggy. So I have been wanting to get into the crawler world for a while so here I am. I don't have one yet but i am in the build process as we speak. I cannot afford a new RC really so I am building one out of a TMAXX PRO .15. I currently Have a build thread started in the Maxx crawler section say's i have never even drove one in the title.
I am from Saint Paul Minnesota.
I Just got put on full disability Untill further notice which will be for years according to my doctor. In turn that leaves me nothing but time to build and read and learn how to do things in the crawler world.
Anyways I'll rap things up. I am very excited to become a part of your community And am looking forward to getting to know people here.

Thankyou,
Jeff"thumbsup"

My name is Matt and I actually don't even have any crawlers yet. I joined because I plan on getting some scalers. My collection only consists of some short course and truggys. Hope to learn a lot here!

Great Site!

New here and just getting into this....bought a Wraith, just arrived today....already ordered VP Drag, Steering, and suspension links. Plan on a Savox servo upgrade of some type, and probably HH combo motor upgrade. Would also like to do something with the shocks and soften them up a bit, Plan on mostly crawling, thats what I do with my real Jeeps so it is kind what I want to do with this Wraith as well. Anyway GREAT site, just like the Jeep forums I peruse, a wealth of knowledge on here.

I am a military guy and live in Virginia Beach, VA

Later,

Will

intro to rcc

hey its bacon here. real name kyle cronnic. live up in the great white north and recently got into rcs about a year ago. got myself a couple of micros, thats what hooked me. started with one MHR then another then the rally/sct came out had to get three of them. after all the micros were modded and tweaked, i got myself a 1/8 buggy. HPI Vorza Flux. i love it, only problem is my lhs doesnt carry shit for it. no parts anywhere. have to order it all in, so i bought myself another vroza and d8e roller; then broke it down into parts bags for easy track swaps. currently doing a little micro rock crawler, you guys know all mods that are going on it, bwd vertex weights, crawlerx chassis ect ect ect. but after a while of working on this micro i have a real craving for a comp crawler. i have been lurking around the berg section and think i will get one going for this winter, they seem a little more complicated than the micro. so if you see me start posting the most random stupid berg questions you know why lol. well tahts about that time for a smoke break. thanks for all the info and dont worry the search button is my friend hahaha.

new to RCC, not new to rc crawling or 1:1 crawling!
i have several 1/6 and 1/18 scale nylint crawlers. a few are modified, and the others haven't even been touched!
i also have a revo, hasn't been touched in a few years.
and lastly i have the HPI crawler king! just bought it not long ago, while i was in afghanistan! i love it, but i'm ready to start "improving" its abilities.
ready to learn all i can to modify it, and hopefully meet some people in my area to wheel with!

im a newbiie to this site
my name is stephen
i have an scx10 xj(soon to be somehting else not sure what yet)
i like is sacramento
i have been addicted to scalers foe about two years now

JR from New Zealand. Post 1.
I just got Venom Creeper and have started modding it before I even ran it, after reading hundreds of pages on here!
I've been racing off road (Assoc B44 and B4, Losi XXX-4) and on-road (CRC Gen-X10 mod, F109 F1, HB Cyclone TC) for the last 4 years, so plenty of RC experience, but zero crawling.
Damn fun being able to drop the chassis in hte bac yard for a run instead of driving 1/2 hour to a race track!

The name's Jeremy and I'm currently living in S. Korea...yup, I'm in the military. I've got a broken Maxstone 10 that was given to me and am currently fixing it. Also have a Honcho in the mail. Been scouring this forum for the past month on how to fix it and in the process getting tons of ideas.

Noobie

Hey peeps.
I am Jay. Dutchie, proud owner of Axial Wraith, Axial Honcho, Tam Jugg2, TXT1 with all alu goodies Tamiya had available, Tam hi-lift, Tam cc01, tam cr-01 and about 25 further buggies, stadium trucks, tanks , motorcycles (vmx450) some speedboats, a kyosho wave-chopper with graupner water-jet, aaand some modded RC ski-doos.

'Been at it for about 20 years. Old guy here.. :lmao:

Not much to say here. Crawler scene isn't very big in The Netherlands. Scalers are somewhat more popular.
Competed at the Tamiya-cup european championships many, many moons ago.

Nowadays I get more satisfaction from building&running slow stuff like scalers and tanks.

*shrugs* not much to tell. I am ye average nerdy dude with a penchant for technology, philosophy and political studies... I am odd like that.

Newbie

I'm from a small town in Michigan. Been lurking around for a while now.
Soon I want to start two different builds.I dont have a rig right now but I have had a few in the past. Had an RC10GT I raced and had lots of fun, and some toy grade electric but I want to do A LOT more.
I'm Looking forward to a new job and with that new income, 1:6 Scale Ford Raptor SVT R high speed baja truck. The next will be a 1:10 Bronco crawler, dont know what I'm going to use on either one....So its up in the air.

I have 2 girls (one is almost three and the other is 4mo.) that I love to more than anything and an AMAZING fiancé, She lets me do my thing....Which is building computers and working on cars. I'm a father first though. I ramble and have poor sentence/paragraph structure if you have not noticed by now."thumbsup"

Gradutated from Lincoln Tech in 2009 for automotive technology with a 3.2 gpa. High school drop out because I was stupid, but now I'm working on making up for it. For now I'll shut up and keep admiring everybody's amazing work. Can't wait to start mine and get some advice from all of you fine folks. Thanks for you time and have a great day!

Hi. I'm not really new to RC, but I am new to the crawler world, and I'm new to scale work. I decided I want to build a semi scale 1/20 crawler using a losi trail trekker and a new bright jeep unlimited body. I have the body, now I'm doing the rest of my research before I dig in. Nice to be here, and hope to learn a lot.
