So they do need to "breathe" ? Can I drill a hole in the tire instead...it took forever to put the beadlocks together...plus if I had aluminum wheels instead of the plastic ones that came in the kit you'd think they would come with the hole already drilled

Did I say I was hard headed already ?

Yes, they do need to "breathe" to allow the tire to conform to rocks for more traction "thumbsup"

You can make a hole in your tire, but it is reccomended that you remove the tire first, and make a hole in the sidewall, since it is usually the thickest part of the tire, if not always.

Yup, alumnium wheels have holes in 'em, IDK why axial didnt put those darn holes in the wheels though..

Hello from Colorado

Well I'm new to your site and to crawling. i can't wait to get this rolling and explore the world of crawling. I have a AX10 scorpian, and Losi mini for my first rigs. I am putting a 73 Bronco body on the mini, and I have a tuber set up on the ax10. I would like to meet some local crawlers to go out and learn with, so if you you read this and you don't mind helping out a newbie hit me up, lets go Crawl. I am in Arvada, CO and there are a lot of rock out croppings over here.

Thanks
Jerry

My name is Cody
I have a Losi mini LST, Losi MRC Pro Roller, Traxxas 1/16th E-Revo VXL (fast as balls)
Im from south Ga where its hot as hell right now.
Excited about r/c crawling.
Im tired of going fast and tearing stuff up.

I recently got back into RC vehicles. Seen the Axial Wraith on the cover of RC Car Action and fell in love with the idea of rock crawling. Bought a losi mini crawler from Jakes Performance Hobbies. Fun little truck thinking of digging up the box of Clod parts in garage and building a MOA (its been left for dead for 15 years ) Well enuff from a crawling noob back to reading tec about crawling:shock:

great man its awsome your back into it. so are going to start out with a small truck and work your way up to a larger truck or are you going to stick with what you have it costome?"thumbsup"

I like the Losi Mini (turned the rocks in the front yard into FUN) and ordered a mini pro.My son loves it (happy to let him drive a car he can out run). Still thinking about the clod. Also waiting for the Wraith to hit the shops a 2.2 truck gives some more options for play areas and has a larger following in the area.

Quick question: Is rock racing considered crawling? I already asked about the differences between the two in the newbie forum, so I won't ask the same questions. Just want a yes/no.

http://www.rccrawler.com/forum/showthread.php?t=322714

IMO, yes it is considered crawling. basically, how I see it is that rock racing is a "subtopic" to crawling, just like 1.9, 2.2 and 1/8 crawlers have their own category of rules. also, since scalers are theoretically still crawlers, I would think rock racing IS crawling.

I've looked but can't seem to find it. Is there an option to auto subscribe to threads you post in? Or do I need to subscribe to each individually?

Edit: Found it in the UserCP>Edit Options>Messaging and Notification>Default Thread Subscription Mode

I suppose it's time for the mandatory "Hey look at me, I'm new" post.

I've been into RC off and on for about 25 years now, ever since I got an original RC-10 and then an Ultima II as a kid. Been through more than a few buggies and stadium trucks over the years, dabbled in Nitro for a while and most recently had a few RS-4's.

I've been wanting to pick up a crawler for a while now ever since I got rid of my 1:1 trail truck a few years ago. Now that I'm on "sabbatical in the Himalayas" I figured now is as good of a time as any and I ordered a Wraith, also had the wife pack up and ship over one of my Rs-4s and all the goodies she could find stashed in the garage. The Wraith needs to hurry up and get here as I've already been ordering upgrades and replacement parts for it.

Hey all,
Just found this thread, so heres a lil bout me. My name's Mike, I live in CA SF Bay Area (Bay Point) and ive been toy'n with Rc's goin on 28 years now!
Got a Tamiya Hornet for my 10th b-day and bought my first Rc (The Blackfoot) when I was 12. Ive had many over the years that cover the spectrum, land, water, and air (planes and helis').
Most recently (kinda) I bout my son a crawler for his 2nd b-day, yes 2! He had mastered the cheapos. Took him bout a week and he was all over the place. He's now 4 and still cruisin. I had my share of fun with it too. So I bought the Axial TR and another AX10.
Well, Ive had my fun, and like every other RC, it needs modifications. I have started a custom build on an AX10 to a 1.9 scaler basher, and im collecting parts for the TR to a 1:1 of my silverado (with a few upgrades). As soon as I get some time, Ill start a build thread.
I must say, theres alot of awesome rigs, tips, tricks, and info that Ive seen, and read up on in here!!

Thanks for havin me"thumbsup"
Mike

Alllo World

Allo internets!

My name is David, I'm from Olympia, Wa. I've just started crawling though I have had a rustler for some time. I took my rustler from bushings to bearings and brushed to brushless with some custom headlamps and so on, so I like to tinker. Right now I have an axial Ax10 with some upgrades. I am glad to be here and theres no time to loose I'm off to look at people's builds!

I'm not real new to crawling and have been browsing around the site here for a year or so, but it's time to say hello. So, hello fellow crawlers. I have an Axial Ax-10 that has been modded from bow to stern and a Beetlejuice v3 sitting on some Bergs w/ dual HH BR-XLs. I also live about 25 mins from the 2nd largest canyon in the cont US.

Not really new to the site or rockcrawling, I've been into 1:1 for about ten years mostly toyota stuff, still have one for now. Been trying the comp thing with rc's. It's tough but seperates the men from the boys so to speak. Well anyway just another newbie checking in. Oh and great site I've been lurking for awhile.

Nooobbb

OK, time to say HELLO!. OLD, Retired, former resident of the USA (and veteran), moved to the "great white north", with way too much spare time. I decided I needed a hobby (that required "2" hands), so I bought my first (of probably many) crawler last week. the first thing I learned is they have a voracious appetite for MONEY. I've been trying to feed it as best I can. I figure if I cut out the unnecessary spending (food, clothing rent, etc) I should have this thing crawling in no time. I'm also getting pretty good at making palatable meals from cat food. I started a build thread, but I can't post pics, so you'll just have to use your imagination. so far, I've cut myself once, burned myself twice, and I have little tire tracks all over my furniture,I NEVER imagined this was going to be this much fun. Oh well, onward and upward. Anyways, CHEERS everyone, happy crawlin'.

Hey everyone. My name is Dylan Fritz and I live in Amador County, California. I've been into rc for about 2-3 years. My project is a SCX10 running a 35T Integy with RC4WD wheels and tires. It also has a RC4WD Defender 90 body. More scale features will be added. Soon I will post pictures. Thanks!
