Yeti Jr. upgrades

Bart, what did you use to lock the gears in rear?

And the flipped a-arms, did you grind a-arms and caster to make it work? These a-arms are already flimsy and I don't wanna weaken them anymore lol. Do the front shafts make any contact with a-arms on full compression?

GPM made an aluminum rear locker + output cups.

ALUMINUM DIFFERENTIAL OUTPUTS FOR REAR GEAR BOX - 5PC SET - GPM Racing

Ya, that's a gpm dealer. I looked on that site the last 2 days and the locker wasn't listed yet but glad it is now.

I like when company's actually listen, I emailed gpm a little while ago asking for a locker and an aluminum motor plate and top cover. They came through with at least one item so far, lol.

I've got one ordered. I put a 4000kV motor in and it hauls ass. I may drop down to a 2600-3000kV with the locked rear and see if it'll do a little crawling.

The gpm.hk site is working, I signed up and put an order through. The other gpm dealer didn't have everything I needed.

Got all my parts in today, its crazy how it only took 2 days to travel from hong kong to cali. Impressive to say the least. I've had parts take way longer just traveling through the states. Lol.

I got mine installed today and one of the m2 bolt holes isn't perfect which caused me to strip the head of the bolt. M2 hardware isn't easily sourced locally. So I Loc Tited the other two and hope they stay put while I give it some test spins when the rain breaks today or tomorrow.

Also, this shows me just how much flex are in the stock plastic axle shafts. I'll be needing some of those metal ones next.

Damn that sucks, mine was fine. Did you try putting the screw in the other side? So far I like it, steering is a little worse but oh well. I'd like to put one up front so I can ditch the plastic diff cups but then it won't turn at all. Lol.

Edit, yes get the steel rear shafts, helps get rid of the flex.

I put in a charged battery and ran it in my hand to check the gear mesh and to listen for anything odd. It sounded good so I went full throttle long enough to make pizza cutters and that's when on tire unseated. So I inspected further and all the tire glue has gotten brittle and I was able to remove all four tires easily.

Now to figure out what to do with the wheels/tires. I would like some better foams for sure. I stretched one over a Slickrock wheel but it didn't look right with a soft foam.

Im running gear head 1.55" beadlocks, the solid delrin ones. I wanted beadlocks and option to run more width. I put stock tires/foams and there way to soft. I wanted the new rock beast but the rc4wd mtr's look good too.

Why would anyone want to gamble on those shafts? GPM sells steel rear axle shafts and steel rear driveshaft as well. Im running both and like them. Plus those won't even work for a rear axle shaft.
