What did you do today?

What size hex are the wheels i. The last pic?

7mm but Axial gives you adapters for 12mm. And the stock Mario Quad is 2wd, with the drive wheels being 7mm! The fronts aren't hexed so I actually have a 2nd Mario Quad on the way just to use the rear wheels to have a whole set.

Could you post, send me pics of the inside of the rim, or a pm. I hax questions, and these look fun on per say, on a tamiya Hornet, rally car?

Made a hard decision today and sold my Jeep. Had been considering this for a while and for various reasons, it was time. In some ways it feels liberating to be out from under a ticking time-bomb... for lack of a batter term. Seventeen years old and has had its share of problems to the point that it was becoming a liability and feasibility concern. But I did a ton of work on her through the years... rebuilt axles, PSC steering, lifted on 37's, etc, etc... built to crawl with a lot of personal touches so it was a tough adios. She was a beast on the trails and rocks. Manual trans too which I absolutely love(d).

All things considered we did good on the sale and we really needed the funds. I'll get back into something but I don't think it'll ever be another Jeep. End of a good run that started with a TJ Sport in 2002 and later a 2006 LJ Rubicon and finally the 2008 JK Rubicon. The LJ was the best of all of 'em and that's the one I really wish I could've held onto. Anyway... bittersweet day but I'm ready to move on. Wife shed some tears but completely supportive as usual.

High plains, I love manual transmissions. I've never owned an automatic. The pickup and the Audi are both stick. Unfortunately one is 39 years old and the other is 22 years old. They are getting up there in age and miles. Both between 210k and 220k. Wife's car is the only auto and it's a CVT. Most horrible tranny I've ever had the displeasure to deal with. On paper it makes plenty of power. In reality it's slower than the polar ice caps melting, lacks any positive reinforcement it is transferring power to the wheels, gets poor fuel economy for what it is, shutters and jerks, always late on downshifts and makes the engine struggle under reload or on hills.

Getting the CNC set up for a 9.5hr job tomorrow morning. It's just a little CNC with not enough power so I gotta run slow on metals.

Always a good day when I get to play with the 2" shell mill. The thing is impressive. 0.25" deep passes at 1600RPM on a Bridgeport gives dammed near a glass finish. Throws chips 8-10 feet too! Fun to adjust the feed as people walk by and shower them in chips!

Got some gunsmithing to do when I get home while making vinyl stickers with the laser cutter. Then off to the gun show this weekend. Hopefully a good show!

Back when we used to crawl almost every weekend, I remember guys occasionally saying things like "No way I'd want to be teetering on the edge with a manual transmission". I understand where they were coming from but a stick was what I was most comfortable with. Once you've logged some hours with a manual transmission, you can really use it to your advantage on the rocks. And on the pavement it's just plain fun. Chirping 37's made me grin... whether accidental or otherwise lol. I guess I'm old school though... first truck I ever drove was three on the tree and that was one hell of a learning experience!

Yeah... I don't know many fans of the CVT although I don't have much experience with em.

Have a good weekend... always enjoyable to drool over a huge array of firearms!

I crawled with a manual (t18) in my 1:1 for a lot of years. I swapped to an auto a few years ago because I was having some trouble with my left knee. I enjoyed the manual and never felt like it limited me in any way, but the auto was like installing an easy button in so many ways. 😆

Left knee for me as well... also just getting in and out was mildly bothersome at times too. My Tacoma's have all been auto... I appreciate the times that it's more point and play. Same goes for pavement driving too when there's a lot of traffic.

Nearly everyone drives manual back in the UK, been here in Canada for over a decade now and still don't like auto's (n) ... good for the drive-through's though lol Wife is unwilling to drive a manual which sucks for me

Yep. When I learned to drive a manual, it became hard to settle for an automatic in some of my vehicles. Not as much of an issue in a lack-luster performing sedan but with certain vehicles the auto just doesn't cut it for me.

lol Really surprised that in all those years I never even taught my wife to drive my manual vehicles. She would've done well I think.

Worked for hour and a 1/2 and clocked out at 40 with 1/2 a vacation day I got to use up by end of the month.

Then picked up some stuff from a buddy, mostly just to flip and hopefully make a little more than I spent to pick it up, and get a few things out of the mix.

Then Changed the hay out in the Chicken Coup. its been a few and I'm sure the Chickens and Ducks like fresh bedding.

Now to get some prices together and try to sell some stuffs...

I learned in autos, but I don't think I'll ever go back after switching to manual. It's just more enjoyable in my opinion. I daily an '85 MR2 with a 5-speed and I love it, manuals are awesome.

some cars are more enjoyable to drive with a manual some are better with a automatic oddly enuff my 1973 vw bus has a automatic and its way better than a manual in a vw bus even though the manual transfers power better the vw bus with a auto just drives better my tow pig is a auto my and my new rig also a automatic my daily driver is a manual

just to throw a wrench in this i also have the beetle with the auto stick a kinda hybrid set up still uses a vacuum actuated clutch with manual shift but also has a torque converter so you dont really need the clutch or to shift for that matter lol

Yeah, I'd want a stick in a MR2 for sure. They're small and light enough that a manual becomes advantageous.

Growing up on a farm about a billion years ago, my dad wanted me to learn to drive a stick since that's what a lot of vehicles/ tractors had back then. I had to have my 2008 Rubicon built just because there were no manual transmission JKs anywhere close to my vicinity. IIRC there were a couple in west Texas... but way too far away for them to flat tow. So I had em build it which was cool to tweak the options and pick the color.

Gotta agree 100%. And I'd want an auto in a tow rig for sure. I'm familiar with the auto-stick feature in name only. Never driven one... not sure I've ever even seen one. Car manufacturer's did some crazy stuff back in the day and VW had their hands all over weird innovations for sure lol.

Dunno what year but my grandparents had a VW bus with pop-up camper top. I was too young to drive it but man that thing was fun to ride in. Bright orange color iirc.

First car for me was a 1978 Datsun B210 Hatchback 4 speed. Damn I loved that car. SOOOO SOOO easy to drive and absolutely predictable when you'd send it into a slide. Used to plow snow 18 inches deep with that little ass 2rwd car that sat 6 inches off the ground.

Also had a 77 Dodge Sportsman Van with a 3 speed on the floor, and a 67 Dodge Valient (actually my brother's by growing up together and my rents adopted him at 13) with a 3 on the tree. Not all cars are great as manuals is correct. lmao
