What did you do today?

Thank you!

Yesterday, I accepted the first offer as Mold Designer. I was excited about the company and the job from the time of the interview. The people, including the owner, were very nice. He invests money back into the company and it is a clean facility, climate controlled, and most of the machinery is new. They make components for companies in the medical industry hence the cleanliness. It's rare these days to find a company that invests so much money back into the company and one that has mostly new machinery, especially at a company privately owned by a single person. They went well above their published salary range to meet my ask and were very patient in allowing me to explore my other options. Oddly enough my boss will be the husband of a woman that my girlfriend managers at her job. And I just so happened to go to high school with him, but never really knew him. I do know that he loves motorcycles though. The have their own machine shop in-house so they make the molds, do the molding of the parts, and even make some of the more custom machines. Plus they have a Bambu X1-Carbon and another printer that appeared to be resin printer. I'm looking forward to it.

The company that gave me the second offer is still doing a pay study to see if they can match the first offer. I have no expectations that they will match it because they were so far away to start. They were supposed get back to me yesterday, which is when I advised them I would be making my decision, and they delayed so that annoyed me. If you make a promise to me, keep it. That job also had travel which I absolutely do not want. Travel is not a part of the job I accepted.

I'm just happy and relieved to have only been out of work less than a month. Looking forward to a new beginning and a fresh start!

Congratulations sounds like you will fit right in the new opportunity.

Glad to hear it’s working out. Congrats on the new job!

One of my close childhood buddies picked up an Arrma Fury SCT, which he was enticed by his bro in-law that also recently got a Maxx and a Mustang drift car. My buddy drives a XJ and he told me he wants to get a crawler. 👌

Good to hear you landed back on your feet quickly Jato. Was in a similar situation this time last year. I know the feeling.

I converted my Gatekeeper to the IFS2 front, cause, Why not its already a Floppasaurus-Rex. Hated the idea of the crappy looking plastic shock body that came with the IFS2 kit, so after comparing, realized the kit shock bodies are the same size. Tore down and rebuilt those to work with the IFS2 setup.

Then found some cool things to color with a silver sharpie on black plastic pieces. Fuel Cell, radiator, Etc.

Thinking about swapping the Element rear axle on the Gatekeeper with an Axial ar44 I have laying around. The axial variant looks to be a smidge smaller and this one has the aluminum lockouts and may be a gram heavier?

Ran my Capra through some rough granite rocks with new JC Ruptures. Was running Flat Irons before and they were alright but the JCs just gripped like crazy. Haven't been out in a while... last summer. Single 1500 pack so only about an hour but sunny and dry about 75 deg.... much needed therapy to clear my head and stretch the limbs.

Got home and decided to give a late-winter cleanup to one of the flowerbeds. Ran into a small snake that went right between my fingers as I was turning mulch... Love all the critters except the red wasps which are still dormant.

Made cheese enchiladas but instead of a standard red sauce, did a chili-gravy with onions. Fairly simple and they came out good.

Gotta pick up wife from the airport Sunday. She's in Ft Meyers for her sister's wedding.

Also gotta update my rc10gt thread. Electronics have been a b!#@& since everything had to be updated and/ or relocated but I've got it sorted now. Setting linkages, epa's, etc currently. Building the shocks next... still gotta finish off a few minor details but she's just about done. Best rc project ever... full of challenges and also a fantastic trip down memory lane. Can't wait to hear this one come to life.

Waiting for glue to dry and need to pick a spot for the Rx in the Mario Yeti Jr. Initially had the front shocks for the rear and was gonna put some in the front but I figured out a way to utilize the long rear shocks still and give it the proper bracing. RRP pinion mesh set, had to go with a 1000mah instead of a 1500, and final thing will be tuning of the Micro X. It's thread will get updated tonight or tomorrow in near final form.

I finally put in the fourteen percent underdrive in my rear axle. It’s wild how much that little bit changed it so much. I can turn on a dime now, I have the Meus iso’s so I already had some good turn but now it’s very small. It feels very different on the rocks too, I’m going to have to get used to it.

Worky Worky.
Got home and fed the ducks and chickens. Then the Cat. Then me. lol

Watched a few youboob vids and made one opening another box of fun for the Origin.

Drove to Redlands from home, @ about 3 am. It was a 900 mile trip to pickup my trailer, and back in one day. Opened the H10 package and the day was over 38 minutes ago

Those front sand rib tires are directional? :ROFLMAO:

I know I said I'd update my thread with the build breakdown but here's a pic to hold me over til then. JConcepts MT 1/24 tires came in and had to put them on the wheels. These resemble the toy tires decently but the end result will be the stock toy tires to keep the look. Realistically I'm just tired of my desk being messy but sometimes projects call your name. What this is missing is an obnoxious muffler for the back! 🤣
