What did you do today?

I received a second job offer this afternoon. This time it is from the place I REALLY liked, but the pay is significantly less and they didn't want to match the first offer. I got the "potential to make more" spiel.
Very glad to hear you've got options coming so quickly. The last time I was job shopping i didn't hear anything from any job I applied to for 3 months. Finally got an interview and got hired. Suddenly get calls from other places i had applied months earlier. Such a pita.

Thank you! I experienced that in the past where I got calls from jobs I interviewed for months before. I got lucky this time around!

Done some soldering today, finally got rid of the battery Spektrum IC3 connectors. Long overdue.

Four batteries done, only took about 45 minutes.

Also made a charging lead as I've been using one of those horrible 8-1 leads, again ... long overdue.

Can finally wipe this off my to-do list that never seems to end lol

Nice. What did you do with the small smart wire that was in between the red and black power leads?

Thanks. Merely snipped the smart wire, then wound up. Used a tad liquid tape on the cut end. Can still see them on the 2nd last pic.

I have one final interview on Monday, but they do a lot of electrical stuff which I don't have experience with so my hopes and excitement aren't too high. Regardless, I have a tough decision to make next week and I will be thinking about this one all weekend!

But it is great and I feel so happy and thankful to have job offers. Such a RELIEF for somebody like me that has a mortgage on a newer home, new truck, new Harley and the absolute requirement for health insurance and life-sustaining meds!

Thanks. I’ve got a couple of them batteries that I may do the same.

Never heard of anyone choosing the xt60i personally and don't see the reason for it here. What do you use them for? I'm curious now as like most peeps, I simply wanted the smart wire eliminated as just not wanted or needed.

I don't think most people eliminate the smart wire because they don't want it, that is just a side effect of switching to whatever connector they already use for their collection. If you can have your preferred plug and still maintain the smart capabilities that you paid a premium for over other batteries, then why not?

I still have real-time battery telemetry through the RadioLink and don't need/want Spektrum's over-priced (my opinion) smart stuff. Only reason for having their batteries is because of being a newbie and buying an rtr setup (y) Hadn't heard of anyone mention the xt60i before and wondered why is all, I just don't see a need ... at least for my own needs.

Started to take some pics as I was working on the Mario Quad build last night which these pictures show just another body resting but has the rear links installed and no shocks mounted. Kept the work going without taking more pics, but the body is mounted with the rear hinged.

You make the oddest coolest stuff! Love it!💯

You could also do an XT60i connector, it is basically a XT60 connector with a single pin added. They were the original smart connector before Spektrum bought the tech from ISDT and changed it up to the IC connectors.
I had no idea. Good info! Thanks for sharing!

I don't see the harm in keeping the wire.

The fifth and final job interview today went very well. The Engineering Manager said he'd like to have me on his team. Unfortunately, they are probably going to move slower than my deadline, which is to make a decision this week, because the Engineering Manager is going to be busy with customer visits. But I have one good offer, another decent offer and that company is doing an internal analysis to see how close they can get to the first offer. Good things and I'm very thankful!

I hope you get the 1 that you want.
Thank you!

Yesterday, I accepted the first offer as Mold Designer. I was excited about the company and the job from the time of the interview. The people, including the owner, were very nice. He invests money back into the company and it is a clean facility, climate controlled, and most of the machinery is new. They make components for companies in the medical industry hence the cleanliness. It's rare these days to find a company that invests so much money back into the company and one that has mostly new machinery, especially at a company privately owned by a single person. They went well above their published salary range to meet my ask and were very patient in allowing me to explore my other options. Oddly enough my boss will be the husband of a woman that my girlfriend managers at her job. And I just so happened to go to high school with him, but never really knew him. I do know that he loves motorcycles though. The have their own machine shop in-house so they make the molds, do the molding of the parts, and even make some of the more custom machines. Plus they have a Bambu X1-Carbon and another printer that appeared to be resin printer. I'm looking forward to it.

The company that gave me the second offer is still doing a pay study to see if they can match the first offer. I have no expectations that they will match it because they were so far away to start. They were supposed get back to me yesterday, which is when I advised them I would be making my decision, and they delayed so that annoyed me. If you make a promise to me, keep it. That job also had travel which I absolutely do not want. Travel is not a part of the job I accepted.

I'm just happy and relieved to have only been out of work less than a month. Looking forward to a new beginning and a fresh start!
