What did you do today?

Got 1 5k lipo in with the Tundra at a park with a friend that picked up a drone last month so he wanted to get some practice in. Not much for me to play with a rig at an open field park but it was still fun getting some high speed 2nd gear runs in. We spotted a small Terrier sniffing his way around a fenced tree line across the field.

Didn't think too much of it and told my buddy to go record the dog. The lil fella made his way to the end of the tree line and outta site. Not a few minutes later a girl is shouting for the dog from where the dog came from at the opposite end of the fence line. We shout out to her that the dog is at the opposite end of the block some place, but thankfully a woman already was entering the park with the dog loose trying to find the owner, and eventually they met in the middle and the girl got her dog back.

Unfortunately my buddy was swapping the drone battery when the dog left the tree line. If he didn't have to return the drone to our location and swap the battery, he would've still been flying it when the girl came looking for the dog and we would have a cool pet reunion content in a matter of 5 minutes or so.

Swapped tires from 40" treps to 43" swampers. Sorting out my front driveshaft today and it'll be ready to ride again. Also got started welding the Jimmy's buggy so I can make some more progress on those.

Hurricane went thru. 2 trees hit 2 vehicles at my parents house. S10 just grazed it. 1 of our SRT4's front mashed. Got home Neighbor had a huge pecan tree down in his driveway. So I spent my day off with 3 different chainsaws. I'm whooped. Off to bed I have to work tomorrow.

Thank you. Yeah we are good. I tell my girls as long as no one gets hurt or dies it's all good.
SRT4 at least it was the parts car no title but it still sucks. The 1 she was driving the windshield got busted. Hopefully I can go check it out this evening after work.

This hits home. Parts car or not. Sorry for your loss. Glad no one is hurt or worse.

I had an '03 SRT-4, ran the NorCal SRT-4 forum, and then my own Performance car forum afterwards. I kinda miss my SRT-4. I don't miss working on the damn thing constantly. Although when you were consistently pushing a completely stock engine with a Stage I PCM and very mild bolt-ons, past 330 wheel hp and keeping it there. It was bound to be a chore. Had my hands in building a LOT of 400-525hp engines as well. Soo many hours of tuning.

Cooler temps, means more real truck maint.

Swapped the piss poor Old Man Emu rear shocks on my Tacoma, for a set of Bilstein's. Soon as the upper control arms show up. I'll be tearing the front end down. Swapping the stock UCA's for SPC adjustable UCA's, Installing a set of ToyTec BOSS coil-overs, replacing the lower ball joints, replacing all 4 tires and getting an alignment.

We got hurricaned a lot harder than expected as well. Could be up to 2 weeks without power is what we are hearing now. Lots of trees down, thankfully no significant damage to my house or vehicles.

Same at my parent's house though they had 2 huge trees come down that has completely blocked their driveway and garage. My aunt is coming to pick up my folks and take them to Charleston for now. It will be at least a week before anyone helping with the cleanup can make it to their house and cut up the oak tree laying the length of the driveway.

Been there, done that.
Got a generator?
Yep. Got one after an ice storm several years ago that cut power for 2 days. Trouble has been getting gas. Only a few stations have power to be able to sell fuel. I pumped extra fuel out of my 1:1 crawler to use in the generator so I'm good for a while.

I'd drill a hole in my spare vehicle gas tank, or a neighbors and pay for damages after. In emergencies, gotta do what you gotta do.

Damn I hope everybody down there gets through it ok and losses to a minimum if any!

Currently making some Old Man Emus less scale with some Mini Ts and printed cups for Axial shocks.

Going to cut more trees today at my parents.
I know we have all been thru a disaster but man you never get use to what happens. The damage and clean up. I'm glad the creek didn't breach the banks.
Looks like I'm going back to a 6 day work week again. 1 day off leaves little time to rest or clean up.
Thinking back about it. My bro left the tailgate down and the chainsaw fell off. Destroyed, I bought a cheap craftsman to leave down there. I wonder if he planned that. lol

Diesel666 she has 3 Srt4's 1 black and 2 silver. Her first fast car. Man does that thing pull hard in 3rd gear. I remember the first time she hit it in 3rd gear. I was impressed.

Well it was my birthday today, and a few weeks ago the owner of the LHS told me that the nearby track is still around/being used.
He said folks show up starting at 10, so I got my morning going and walked the dog and then got to working on what I was to bring with me to drive down there.

Finally fixed up the Traxxas UDR i had bought from Codyboy like 3 years ago, that has been sitting, only missing it's motor, and a servo. Put a CC motor, and 35kg servo on it and somehow after i finished, it would drive about 30 feet. Then it would stop. So that fun lasted a whole minute before i lost my cool and put that away.
Out came the hammer rey, which i mistakenly let a young kid drive a few weeks prior ( he broke something internal to the remote and it wont auto center) so, my son and I drove the Hammer rey for another 10 minutes and got tired of that and went home.

In the end it was a disappointing day because the track was run down, and my rigs just didnt want to run right l.
