What did you do today?

Took the day off of work (vacation day so with pay, Whoop. lol).
Went and spent a grand at Homey Depot to get the stuff I need to finish up my Mechanical Room so I can get a new furnace installed soon. Temps are dropping fast here in Mi.

Scrubbed grout in our house for about 4 hours and then wiped it out. Still not finished either

Finally got my Telluride out today for the first time since the last of the upgrades were completed, probably the first time driving it in 7, almost 8 weeks even. Dad and I also ran our E-Revos last night, probably more than 8 weeks since I drove that last too!

yesterday i went to a certin political canidates rally in Coachella
today im recovering from 6 hours in the 100+° heat and sun luckly there were pallets of ice and tubs of ice cold bottled water 👍
Heard it was packed 100K plus...And another loser was arrested trying to get in, armed and had fake press and VIP papers of some sort.

I spent some time today putting walls on my mechanical building. got 2 on. will put the next 2 together tomorrow and get them put in place. Then onto the rafters... Hope to have the new furnace installed in 2 weeks or sooner.

I got the rock crawler out of the garage this weekend to finish putting it back together now that the driveline is 100%. Reinstalled the floor and the uhmw on the skid, plus made some suspension adjustments. It's ready to hit the trails again finally after just over a year.

Barely about to clean up my desk from this weekend. All it's gonna take is the next meet to get it messy again. This weekend is free, so maybe I'll get to work on my scale shop.

More work to the Mechanical Building. HVAC guys will be here this coming Friday to charge to 10 large to install a new furnace, air handler, duct work that has to be custom made. So I took yesterday off again, and between that and today, got a fair bit done. have to hand wood on the outside walls tomorrow, then lay rafters down, and sheet the roof, then cover it with Ice Guard. then I'll need to order the metal for it but that can come later.

Will get a few pics of the venture and post them up tomorrow.

Put in 8hrs at work. Came home and chased the little man around the yard. Let the neighbor kids run the Senton unit another shock end pulled out. Gotta find some good replacements for those. Just got done running a pack through the Trx on the hardest lines I could find on the backyard course. That rig never seems to disappoint. Would post some pictures but I still can’t figure it out on the new forum platform.

Ran my Redcat Shredder, showin' off for a buddy that was cracking up.
Smacked a fence post with a wheel just wrong (I use part of the fence at the top of a hill to backflip and barrel roll).
First time in 4 years and 2 sets of batteries that I actually broke something on it!
And it's only a steering bellcrank!!
Take that Redcat haters!! 😁

I should add - I offered to let my buddy drive the Shredder, but he said it was too fast and he was afraid he'd break it.
5 minutes later...
So I got out my minis - Deadbolt and Furitek FX118 with a Unimog body/cage, both brushless.
Noob can't hurt 'em and he had a blast - got the hang of crawlin' pretty quick.
He was pretty fascinated, asking questions including "where's that hobby shop again?"
Probobly got a newbie on the hook!

Outer Walls, Rafters, Roofing. Need to get myself 2 more sheets of 1in foam for the roof so a few pieces of OSB are just temp put on, then it'll all be covered in Ice guard, then Metal. Eventually I'll likely build deck over it as I have a dirt oval going in over in that area so it can double as somewhat of a drivers stand, at least to some extent, if its a deck anyways.
But after putting on the foam and osb on the rest of the roof, buttoning up a few things and adding a little bit of sealer to a couple spots. Once the roof is fully sheeted, and ice shielded, I'll be able to call Tue am to get the next inspection done and should be ready for my HVAC guys on Friday.

Still need to finish cutting out the pass through once the next inspection is passed, then I can also insulate the walls, get the door installed and then finish up the steps area. the landing is about 4inches of pea gravel over cinder blocks that were empty, and there is ad drain that dumps into a bucket, which is under the cincerblocks also surrounded with deep pea gravel to help keep water out. If I need I can install a small sump pump into the bucket and dump the water right into my drain field tile which is just a couple feet from the building side. Will be nice to have heat again by this weekend. Old furnace is working but has a cracked heat exchange so it is tripping the sensor after a while so I just don't run it. It started shitting out beginning of spring when it wasn't too bad out and I'm just not getting it done finally. 12G later, but getting an American Standard 96% 80k furnace, with a heat exchanger in the mix. Unsure if I'll go with a standard A/C or Heat Pump at this point, but will likely go with a Heat Pump next year after I pay down most of this project here.

I still need to redo the roof on the house, and I'm thinking of Repitching it to 4.5/12 from its current 3/12 pitch, then a full resheet, added insulation in the attic, then metal roofing to finish it off. So may not do a heat pump or a/c for a few years. Guess we'll see how fast I can pay this shit off. And that depends on what may come in RC that I Cant wait to have, further causing pain. lmao

Since I'm looking to build a scale shop, 2ft of workspace depth on the desk ain't enough to have both. So I've got another desk (same styling & components to add onto current setup) on the way to add another 2' of depth. The back half of the desk will basically be the scale shop and I can still have workspace in front of it rather than moving the shop. Never thought I'd be so stoked to have my own scale shop like it's a real shop 😂

I spent some time organizing my home and tackled a few chores. I also made a quick trip to Canadian Pharmacy to pick up some essentials. It's always nice to have everything I need in one place.
