What did you do to your SCX24 today?

What springs are you trying on the JLU?

I bought cheaper 43mm double barrel Hotstorm shocks on Amazon because they where my wife’s favorite color , they came with 2 sets of black springs and a set of silver springs , one set of black springs turned out to be the medium spring rate so I installed them to reduce the bounce.

They also came with more than enough screws , O rings , link balls and spacers which was a bonus.

Installed a Mofo RC torque beast 50 in my Ax 24 .

Power hobby +4mm axles , Treal steering link and Injora brass knuckles went on the wife’s JLU .

Vented the wheels on my AX24 , tested the Mofo torque beast out in the rock garden .

Did you put oil in the shocks and if so ... what weight are you using with the medium springs?

I haven’t ventured into oil shocks yet . I most likely won’t with the AX 24 . I am happy with the 48mm Power Hobby shocks and springs I am currently using and also use them on my FCX Smasher that is more of an all around off roader .
I would rather change springs than experiment with different oil at the moment.

As far as the wife’s JLU build , I’m adding aluminum bumpers this week and a Mofo brass skid plate . Shock tuning will get finalized after the extra weight .

Thanks for the reply.

Im thinking about a 1/18 scale built for my next project , there are more oil filled shocks available than non oil filled for the build I may do . If I go with oil shocks , I hear Olive Oil works pretty good , I will try that first . There’s plenty in the kitchen.

Added some accessories to the AX24 . Tinkered with lights for the wife’s JLU .

Fitted tail lights to the scx Bronco, look better than expected "thumbsup"

I did final body adjustments on my wife’s JLU , mounted the front bumper , installed a Mofo brass skid and Injora 50 pro motor , wrapped it up nice and left it on the kitchen table . I hope she likes it . Photos coming soon .

Fitted adjustable shock mounts to the Bronco "thumbsup"

Questions is ... do I replace the transmission and driveshafts at the same time :???:

What scx24 do you have ? If you plan to go with a front overdrive trans like Hot Racing or Power Hobby be aware that the larger gear that hangs out the bottom of your trans and into the skid plate may rub . I installed the Power Hobby 15% all metal trans in my AX , it made a racket for a few runs , I thought it was the metal gears . Turned out the gears were in contact with the skid plate , thank god the skid was plastic. Killed the trans bearings too .

Thanks for the heads-up, much appreciated. "thumbsup" I honestly feel no need for overdrive at the moment (Bronco is doing good for now), was just thinking if I'm replacing the motor then would I be not as well doing the trans at the same time? Anyways, I ordered the trans & d.shafts so should have it back up and running tomorrow "thumbsup"
