I have to admit I like that more than I thought I would Troy, I'm digging the new tube chassis, looks narrower than the wraith chassis in the front and rear!

Well I guess you'll have to come out and play next weekend and check 'er out!

What am I NOT working on anymore?

The 8x8 Trials Truck.

After putting in a lot more hours than I should have, numerous different configurations/adjustments, a bunch of broken drill bits, and a couple of broken 3mm taps I have decided to put the brakes on for this project.

Making the suspension and particularly the intermediate drive shafts work as they are supposed to was quite a challenge.

I think it stems from the extreme angles of the control arms to the axles creating an outward arcing pattern as the suspension compresses.
The arms need to be closer to horizontal in order to produce a more proper geometry.

Maybe in the future I'll resurrect this project, but for now I'm going to return the borrowed parts to their respective crawler(s).

Thinking maybe I'll do 4 wheel steering along with whichever new lid I choose for my SCX(after I put it back together, that is....).

Which creates another set of questions...

Do I use the Spektrum DX3E and have 3 position non-proportional rear steering?
Do I use the Axial AX-3 with a Y-harness for the servos and have full time synchronized 4 wheel steering?
Or do I use the ancient FM Futaba 4 channel complete with 3 feet of eye-poking antenna, and have fully independent AND proportional rear steering(and endanger my crawling friend's eyes)?

Here's what I'm looking at now....

Been there Rob. ive scrapped at least 3 projects in the last 2 years due to things I couldn't get to work right. My 2 cents. for a radio system. After 3 days of research and tons of digging through forums for answers. I settled on the Futaba 3pl. will give you front steer only. rear steer only. counter steer and crab walk. with a push of one button. and the rear steer will be proportionate . you can set end points and trim both servos . That was the big thing for me. Past experience with a rear steer set up, had a hard time getting the rear set so the truck didn't dog track. rx /tx for $108. Have yet to get the Rok Beast going but this is what im going to be using for my rear steer set up.

4wheel steering depends on the body, any short wheelbase rig you won't need 4wheel steer. Instead you can figure out a way to mount a go pro on a rotating axis to have the camera look in the way your heading.

And so it begins. I went and spent the daughters trust fund and bought some VP stuff. I bought the clamping C's and scale knuckles....VERY nice fit and finish, you could almost say " drop dead sexy"!

Every body seems to have stuff going on..must be winter time lol. Well I have 2 projects going right now. The 2 speed Dodge...that stalled months ago. (need to get back to it since I have all the parts) The Re-birth of my Ford Supercab AKA the Rok Beast. And in the works 79 F150 Regular cab long bed...this will be achieved by hacking up 1 super cab and one short bed. The bed on the super is almost an inch longer then the short bed version. should end up with a 13" wheelbase. So all I need is the 2 bodies and an scx chassis. The 1.9 wraith is giving all its drive train and other goodies for this project. I just like scale trucks...the rock racer and bouncers and such just aint for me. I gave it a chance. just hate the wraith now.
