AAV crew chief. 2 WESPAC deployments, Desert Shield and Desert Storm. Medi-vac'd out because of Asthma attacks, currently rated at 30% disabled.

Not me or my vehicle, we didn't have digital cameras back then, so I just loaded an image to show what one of these Hogs look like.

Thanks so much for thinking of the Vets!! I know I admire the sacrifices they make day after day...

Early 70's I spent time in the Air Force, National Guard and the Navy.. Been all over the states with a little "boating" around the South Pacific.. Hawaii, Guam, Philippines, South Korea, Japan, Thailand, Indian Ocean and Singapore.. Probably a few other places that my feeble mind has lost. 8) In the Guard and Air Force I loaded bombs, rockets and guns primarily on F-105's during Nam. Never made it over to Nam itself though as the war had just ended (thank God) before we were due to ship out...

Lot's of stories, some funny and some not.. But I wouldn't trade the time for anything.. Thanks again!!

BTW Here's a pic of the 105, or "thud" as we used to call them.....

I served in the Marines from 1990-1994 in Field Artillery out of Camp Pendelton.
I've been to the Philippines, Okinawa Japan, Oman, Saudi Arabia, U.A.E. (United Arab of Emirates), and Singapore. For those of you who know what it is........I am also a Shellback.

Very cool stories...

I don't have any pics but My Dad was a Frogman in the Navy for 8 years, served in the Korean war, and my Brother was in the Missle Command in the Air Force, and served in Desert Storm. I was to Tall to go in the armed forces when I looked into joining...am proud of what my Dad and Brother had done for our country and for all of you that have served....

THANK YOU

I just want to give a big shout out to all of the fellow Veterans! No matter what branch you served in or for how long. Every veteran deserves a big thank you for the sacrifices you made to serve our great nation.

He isn't here any longer, but I'd like to thank my great grandfather for serving in the Canadian Navy during WWI. I cannot even begin to imagine the stuff that the men and women that serve go through, so for the ones that made it back safe and the ones that sacrificed everything for our freedom, I thank you.

first off I'd like to thank my grand father for serving, both ww's he past away some time back. and for my dad for his service in vetenam. I'v had alot of family members in the service so thanks to all. I do have some pics. It's kind of hard to just say thanks to all that as served. I do know how most of them felt when they did come back, alot of it was from my dad.(he past away in 95) to hear the stories that he told were very hard to tell, (and he only told them to me once). It made me feel like that I needed to hear what he was saying. And for me not to forget what he had went through.

my step dad and step grand dad both vets.

grand dad naval officer in WW2 past away in 2009
step dad served in the Idaho National guards, served in afganistan for two terms.

I dodged airplanes on a flight deck for 2 cruises (WESTPAC) 7 years in Uncle Sams Canoe Club. I was an aircraft electrician (F-14's) We worked our butts off, but had a blast back at the beach- Saw the world- Did all kinds of neat things alot of people never even thought to do. Thanks to all that have served & supported ! "thumbsup"

I don't have any pics handy but I retired from the Air Force after 22 years in 2006. Spent all my time stateside working on ICBMs

Spent almost 6.5 years in the US Army as an Apache helicopter crew chief.
Served 1 year in Korea, spent most of my military career in the 101st at Ft Campbell. Was stop lossed in 2003 for Operation Iraqi freedom. Since getting out in 2003 I have spent most of my time as a civilian contractor working military aviation. During my service I had the honor to call commands at a handful of military funerals. Was one of the greatest honors of my life.

I am currently away from home so I don't have any pics of me in service, but will try to update this if I can get my wife to send them to me.

Only pic I have: Apache helicopter I helped rebuild after it returned from Iraq while I was working for Dyncorp

Don't pick me.

Seriously.

I just wanted to post up and thank all of the men and women who have served, and still serve, in the United States Military. This includes many members of my family. My current job is overseas on a joint base, in service of the Air Force and Army.

Thank you for not only keeping me safe at home, but here in a war zone too!

HOOAH!!!

Thanks.

My grandfather, dad, two uncles, and little brother are all veterans, and I do make it a point to let them know I appreciate all that they have done. I almost went that route, but went to college instead. This is my little bro when he was in:

It really amazes me how little some people really understand about the sacrifices that are being made for them by people that may have nothing in common with them other than they are American. For these brave men and women, that is reason enough. "thumbsup"

I would like to thank all the vets for keeping us free to do What we love."thumbsup""thumbsup"
