SVT is Gen-er 8-ing a new thread

Fantastic post, like always. I'm very impressed with your steering changes.

One thing that I noticed is that these tires don't seem to look and feel the same as what my Gen7 came with. My Gen7 tires are older and well broken-in now, but I don't recall them ever having the glossy finish that the Gen8 tires have. I was very impressed with the grip of the Gen7 tires, but unfortunately, these don't seem to be the same.

Nice job on the steering link. I still haven't gotten mine yet, (This week or next supposedly), but it really bugged me the way the steering setup looks off the bat. That's probably one of the first areas I'm going to tackle when I get mine.

The fender flares look much better - like they should.

Thanks, the steering is much better now. Add in a solid tierod and it should be as good as any other truck.

Definitely a good first area to tackle, if your truck is ever delivered.

Thanks simple mods suit this truck well.

I'm sure every questionable design decision was a combination of compromise to fit in another feature, desire to be different, and the average buyer likely not caring.

The memory is a strange thing. Maybe they're the same and I'm just having a senior moment, but I really don't recall the tires being this shiny on the Gen7.

I just went back and re-watched my first Gen7 video, and those tires aren't anywhere near as glossy as the new ones.

Give them a good soak in simple green, get rid of that release agent. They’ll be just fine for an RTR

The motor feels underpowered even on 3S and the generous gear reduction and the servo fully stalled on more than a few occasions...

I found the same thing, and also found the drag brake to be somewhat lacking. Swapping on a 12 tooth pinion pretty much fixed it.

His fenders are a MILLION times better - but I'd like to try the bolt on fenders made for the old Axial Jeep Rubicon on a clear Redcat body and trim the Lexan to fit.

Hey, RC4WD makes aluminum ones, and CC Hand makes STEEL ones with inside-the-body reinforcements!

BTW - My fish oil capsules don't taste fishy, I recommend the golden translucent ones - but I think they might be making my pee stink more...

:lmao: I stand by my opinion that they work great on my Gen7 with standard foams. The Gen7 was able to climb up all sorts of inclines that my Bomber couldn't do with the original R35 kit tires.

It's very much like a hiatus in scope, but the driving factor is where the difference can be found; meaning, it's where you have bills jammed up your posterior so far you freeze your credit cards in blocks of ice and stop opening emails from RPP.

Prostitution would actually generate income if executed properly so that would be more of an antithesis.
